They usually get to last 16 tbf before losing to the first big club they play, usually in the first half of the first leg
No, not really. Wenger is poor tactically in Europe and always has been plus our squad is not good enough to compete in more than one competiton.
They're normally top seeds hence getting through to knockouts, now they are 2nd seed, they're going out even earlier
Only there to make the numbers up, even the Arsenal fans know this. Quite sad really, when everyone knows the same will happen every year.
Most premier league managers who perform in the CL tend to learn that they need to adapt their game to suit the continental style. Wenger has never been willing to accept that. Which in itself is noble enough IF he built a good defence to compliment his attacking ethos. But he doesn't do this, which is either bloody stupid or fcking stubborn. Finally, when he decided to change his style it was bcos the situation dictated it. It was too little too late against Bayern when the damage had already been done in the two previous games. He has to learn from this and realise there's more than one way to skin a cat. The way Arsenal played against Olympiakos and Zagreb was naive but so typical of Arsene.
Still got a reasonable chance of going through. Would only result in a second round defeat but still.
Isn't that true of all but three teams now? The odd random one might sneak through to the final but it's a safe bet that we can narrow the winner down to one of three.
I would rather we don't play in Europa as it is a distraction that no PL team needs. in a side note - have QPR just sacked Ramsey and brought back Warnock
I think the official line is that he's been "relieved of first team duties" so could still stay as a coach which is what he is meant to be. Warnock is in temp charge. They brought him in in some nonsense consultancy role a few weeks ago basically admitting Ramsey was clueless and hoping it would help. The problems go way beyond Ramsey.
