Important win after our annual humiliation at Anfield. Thought we were too passive and cumbersome in the first half in an attacking sense. Passing wasn't sharp, not enough triangles and not enough openings being carved through central areas. Saying that, Aubameyang missed an absolute sitter toward the end of the first 45. I'm very concerned about his inconsistency this season. And Ramsdale made a top save from Shelvey's powerful strike. Second half, we were much better. We looked more purposeful with the ball. There was also more tempo to our game, better movement and more security in possession. Defensively, we were fantastic as we generally seem to be these days. Our back four was very solid, and there were some lively attacking displays from Tomiyasu and Tavares, who made up for their disaster classes last week. Special mentions to Lokonga, who also had a fantastic game, and Martinelli, for having such a positive impact moments after coming on. MotM was Saka. Any bit of inspiration or quick-thinking came from him.
Deserved the 3 pts. Lots of positives from the players Arteta has brought in this season. Let's see what he can do with this team
