True. But if we get a similar performance and result to last year, it’ll all be worth it:

Unforgivable performance from us...could have been 5 down at ht...3-1 doesnt fo that game justice tbh...we were dogshit bad throughout ...that pretty much killed Nuno as our manager.
Tbh I would bite your hand off for a draw right now

A draw would be a very good result for you considering you’ve also taken points from Chelsea and West Ham away - grounds where you get 0 points last season. It’d represent a big improvement on the corresponding fixtures from last season.

Clearly this is going to be a much tougher game this time, you’re unbeaten and I have no doubt Conte will be firing them up for this one…

We do need to win this though. We’re on home turf, high on confidence and top of the league. A draw would feel deflating for us.

I do hate the NLDs in terms of anticipation and the hype surrounding the game….it’s only worth it if we win at the end of it <laugh>

I can't watch it unless I'm there...I feel sick watching it on TV . I tend go out and check the score at half time and full time if I ain't got a ticket.
The NLD has been one of the best derbies in the past 20 years.

    There's been 5-4; 5-1; 5-2 (twice), 4-1, 4-4, 3-3, 3-0, 3-1, 2-2 (5 or 6 times)... regular come backs from being 2 down by both sides and a smattering of red cards.

This game tends to go to the home team...think its 2 away wins each in the past 14 or 15 years.

If you win its great. If you come back to draw its good, if the other come back to draw its tolerable...a loss is ****...a loss after being in front is soul destroying.

No other game is like it for me...can't wait for it to be over and done with :emoticon-0119-puke:

If Partey plays we'll win. If he doesn't we'll do well to scrape a draw, quite possibly lose.

It really doesn’t help our cause if our entire system falls apart with the absence of one player.

Partey has been available for 55% of matches since he’s joined the club. He’s been here long enough for us to know he is not reliable fitness wise. We chose to not reinforce that area in the transfer window gone by.

If he isn’t fit or ready to play, then Arteta needs to be a manager and show what he’s capable of by tactically adjusting and finding a new plan to win us the game.

It doesn't help our cause at all, but it's not really debatable. When Partey plays we win far more games. This season, the games he's played we've dominated and won easily. The games he missed we scraped home wins against relative fodder and lost away at United. Serious issue that we're so reliant on him when he's made of glass. Need a CM now in January.

Yeah plus there's not exactly a plethora of top class players in his position these days. I can't think of many we could bring in that would give us a similar level of quality.

Obviously - we are being linked to Tielemans and Luiz but neither of these could do the Partey role well.

But I agree without Partey I think we may struggle against the better sides. Perhaps that's the key with him - play him less, keep him fresh for the bigger matches.

Spurs’ official Twitter account posted this:

<doh> so these are the 3 ‘memorable’ moments they’ve had at our ground? Embarrassing.

    1-1. HT.

Frustrating, as we’ve been the better team imo, but when you don’t take your chances and make stupid decisions in your own box, this is what happens.

We deservedly took the lead, then Gabriel made yet another idiotic decision to go down and take out Richarlison, which swung the momentum in their favour for about 10 mins. Then we ended the half stronger.

If we want to win this, we have to be clinical in the final 3rd and not make stupid mistakes. Spurs hadn’t created too much until we gifted them the goal.

Would be nice if we stopped giving penalties away against them.

    FT. 3-1.

Great performance - throughly deserved even before the red card.

Hopefully that’ll shut the haters up now and will put an end to this nonsense that “Arsenal haven’t played anyone yet” (a narrative ironically also being parroted by Spurs fans).

Great win, great performance and a great start to the weekend. Made all the more sweeter with Dier and Kane crying to the officials at the end of the match <laugh>

    Great performance!

    Xhaka and Martinelli both excellent.

Saliba is just a different class.

Crowd were SUPERB again btw.. this Season has been the loudest most atmospheric its ever been at the Emirates. Feels like the old Highbury days.:emoticon-0167-beer:

Went to visit our friends on the Spurs' forum 'The Fighting Cock' - let's see what they had to say....(my own commentary is in red).

    Pre-game:

    SpiderSpurs:
    Prediction: Goons 1 - 4 Spurs
Lol how did that one work out for you mate?

richyrich: We’re gonna smash em’. They’re petrified of us. Any bravado from their lot is just that. Flat track bullies. Let’s see how they fare today..
Let's see how we fare indeed...

Yid_1984: Richarlison and Son to combine and decimate their flukey start to the season
Erm, did they even play yesterday? Barely noticed them tbh.

Andy66: We crushed their soul in May.
they will be up for it, but I only see little boys in their eyes.
they’ll want to fight but lack the minerals.
Crush them again. Become their owners.
Leave them with the knowledge that the‘ll never be good enough.

Hahahaha this is comedy gold <rofl>

SirAlfredCon: Pub in Maidstone sorted. We will smash them
    COYS

Must have spent a fortune in that pub drinking your sorrows away

Dr Rocktopus: Deluded Thursday night ****s need to be taught a lesson. COYS
Oh, we certainly learned a lesson alright - that you lot will never beat us at our place :emoticon-0140-rofl:

doc: Romero motm today. Emerson to score a header from a Perisic cross. 2-1 away to the mighty Tottenham Hotspur, first in that stadium since 2010.
Lol - how did this work out for ya?

starky: Drop Kane deeper so they put Partey on him and leave us 2 vs 2 in the middle. Son and Richy will run riot.
    Haha oops...:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl

During and after the game (no commentary needed for this...):

False 9: This sounds horrible but I’ve never wanted a player to get injured as much as I have Emerson, guy makes my eyes bleed

Seven Sisters: Why do we always have to do everything the hard way??

Carl Johnson: I'm done with this fossil football. Hope. we get an attacking manager in next season

daveyboy88: thats what happens when you continuously play a player out of their depth

FOK: **** RIGHT OFF WEEKEND RUINED

CarrieFi: Every year we self combust there. Every year.

GlastonSpur: Conte out please, no more of this stinky defensive football

Top_Spur: Stupid individual mistakes. Every ****ing time we play at this ****hole.

GinolaFlair: FFS. Why can't Conte see what we see? Why? He's paid ****ing millions oeryear and can't see that we've been overrun in EVERY ****ING GAME

    TheRomanianJack:
IM ABSOLUTELY ****ING FUMING WEEKEND RUINED **** OFF

Stov: That is the ultimate spurs performance. Go on a good unbeaten run then when it actually matters completely self sabotage.

Nabil Bentaleb: sometimes I hate this club

    <laugh><laugh><rofl>

So many gems if you care to take a gander:
