The best possible start to a Season off a good performance from what I saw of the game (last 30'). Well done lads, start as you mean to carry on.
For the record, AVFC are joint 2nd in the table : Brentford GD + 4 : Aston Villa & Leeds United GD + 2 ... our next opponents, Wigan Athletic, are 4th.

Ahead, level, behind, level, ahead ... and AVFC win their opening two games since from before MON's time (I don't have it in my notepad, which I started in 2006). Per the SSN Live Commentary the attempts (including goals) today were 8-5 & 8-5 = 16-10 to AVFC. Currently AVFC are still 2nd in the table, behind Middlesbrough, who have played a game more.

The right result, but what a ropey performance overall from AVFC ... and I have no idea why Yeovil had a goal disallowed. Good penalty save by Andre Moreira, who looked reliable in our goal tonight.

It would have been an injustice to have lost this match tonight, both due to the overall positive display by AVFC and that the Brentford goalscorer Maupay should not have been on the pitch after stamping on John McGinn.
Aston Villa stay 5th tonight with 8 points from 4 games and are 2 points off top spot.

Despite this setback AVFC are 4th, with 9 points from 5 games, but are now 4 points off top spot.
