EFL1 (Championship), Friday 19/04/2019 : Bolton Wanderers 0-2 Aston Villa For AVFC to win 9 League games in a row for the first time since 1910 is excellent, congratulations for that to all involved. Congratulations too for achieving the double over Bolton today, making it 6 out of the 8 potential doubles won. However, the immediate job is not yet done, as we and I trust all at Villa Park know full well. It is critical that the policy of one match at a time is followed and we do not get overconfident. Attendance : 17,344 (SSN) After this result AVFC's total Form Points rose from 76 to 77 ... that is, points after 46 games. The maximum available remains 81 points, with 9 points left to play for. AVFC stay above par and are 5th in the table, with 72 points and GD at +21 from 43 games.

EFL1 (Championship), Monday 22/04/2019 : Aston Villa 1-0 Millwall This 1-0 win today has provided an apt and memorable scoreline as AVFC achieve the record breaking 10 consecutive League wins. Very well done to all involved. This win has all but consolidated AVFC's play-off place. Only Bristol City could match our 75 points, but their GD is way inferior to ours, +9 and +22 respectively. Per the SSN Live Commentary the attempts (including goals) were 6-8 & 8-2 = 14-10 to AVFC. Attendance : 39,839 (SSN) After this result AVFC's total Form Points rose from 77 to 78 ... that is, points after 46 games. The maximum available remains 81 points, with 6 points left to play for. EFL1 (Championship), Sunday 28/04/2019 : Leeds United v Aston Villa, KO 12:00 hours, SKY. 24/04/2019 : After 10 consecutive League wins, the next AVFC record is 11 straight wins (7 League & 4 FA Cup), which happened in 1914. It will be a tough test to do this at Leeds, which is another anti-double to avoid. We were unlucky to lose at home, to a last minute goal. EFL1 (Championship), Sunday 28/04/2019 : Leeds United 1-1 Aston Villa So no repeat of the 1914 11 consecutive wins for AVFC, the 1-1 scoreline today will probably remind us of this in the future. This draw means AVFC stay 5th and cannot reach 4th. It also means AVFC have avoided conceding the double to Leeds. In the game Leeds went ahead after Kodja had been fouled and was down injured, with most thinking the ball would be put out of play. When play was resumed after intervening melee, credit the Leeds manager Bielsa for ordering his team to allow Villa to equalise, which Adomah scored. This reminded me of when Kanu scored for Arsenal against Sheffield United when a player was down injured. There was no equaliser then, but that match was replayed ... and that fixture will be played again next Season, as our result today ensured Sheffield United are automatically promoted, congratulations to them. EFL1 (Championship), Sunday 05/05/2019 : Aston Villa v Norwich City, KO 12:30 hours. 29/04/2019 : This is the last anti-double for AVFC and a resumption of winning ways would be the best way to ensure AVFC concedes no doubles this Season. This match could also be the title decider, as wins for AVFC and Sheffield United (at Stoke City) will see the Blades top the table (on GD) instead of Norwich. This of course means our promoted opponents will still have something to play for on Sunday.
02/05/2019 : AVFC is locked into 5th place now as Derby drew 1-1 with Swansea last night and now cannot catch us. My AVF prediction, made today : Aston Villa 2-1 Norwich City
Hi Villa fans. Posted on here a few times. As a draw would suit us both, can't see players risking injury and miss play offs. Low key game I hope.
Hello Bure. I hope it will be an injury free game. I wish you Good Luck for next Season, but not for this afternoon ! 05/05/2019 : This link may not work, beware too of any redirects and/or download offers. Stream link, KO 12:30 hours : Feed2All - Aston Villa v Norwich City
EFL1 (Championship), Sunday 05/05/2019 : Aston Villa 1-2 Norwich City It was disappointing for AVFC to lose this match and concede the anti-double too, but congratulations to Norwich for clinching the Championship Title today. Let this be AVFC's last defeat of this Season and thereby ensure this fixture is repeated in the EPL next Season. Play-Offs against West Bromwich Albion and then either Leeds United or Derby County await. Per the SSN Live Commentary the attempts (including goals) were 10-9 & 4-14 = 14-23 against AVFC. Play-Off 1, Saturday 11/05/2019 : Aston Villa 2-1 West Bromwich Albion AVFC came back from a gifted goal with a superb strike from Hourihan and a penalty cooly taken by Abraham. We started the better but went off the boil after WBA's opener, with too much square and back passing. The mystery of this match for me was the virtual disappearance of John McGinn, who hardly got the ball at all. Anyway, advantage AVFC at half-time in these Play-Offs, let us make the most of it in the 2nd leg. Attendance : 40,754 (SSN)
Surprised you never started with Hourihan. Allways looks quality, and certainly raised your performance.Tough game at Hawthorns for you next week. Best of luck.
