    Just when I get out
    They pull me back in

    <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

ps I think your first line contradicts itself lol

    Genuinely though
I would really like to know at what point the high foot constitutes ‘dangerous play’

    is it the height itself
The proximity of the next player
    The force

    all of them ?

Everyone seems unified on the red (I understand by the rule it is) but yet no one has come close to giving an answer on the hypothetical incident I asked about

being that when Naby scored - if a player steals in on the blind side with their head leading and his foot crashes into their head is that a sending off ?

can't say i'd noticed in PL though tbf can't remember any bad tipping incidents when players back in and then bend over .

no VAR and Webb complete ****s this up and only gives a yellow.

now watch the clip and tell me that with VAR thats not pulled back and is a red card.

    Now look at this

Now i'm sorry but bobby is not dipping his head anywhere if aanything its a turn to the side. the boot is mad high. its full on contact. there's critical arteries i nthe area. this is a red card all day every day.

VAR would clearly call that back if a ref didn't see it or didn't deal with it properly.

Naby would get away with it as he contacted the ball reasonably low and only in his follow thru does it get high and who would be stupid enough try and head a thigh high ball .

Still no answer on the hypothetical
Cause it’s sounding like the answer would be he should see red
But he wouldn’t surely not for volleying a goal
    Who knows

Was meant to be can dispute but think got the point.

high foot being dangerous play would constitute the same as any other tackle. Could it cause serious injury.

On your last point, yes if he shots then kicks someone in the head then yeah id say that’s a red. In the same way if you tackle someone, win the ball but then follow through and stuff them in the knee then it’s a red. Why would it be any different for a high foot?

Your 3 options, the force would be the main point.

Any defender trying to get the ball could easily end up meeting the foot at its max height
Not talking about it’s low point

like much of football rules it is subjective as law states

    SERIOUS FOUL PLAY

A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play.

Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.

    whats your hypothetical?

The ref has to deal with an incident on its merits. I have seen players done for bicycle kicks for example as dangerous play. he has to decide each one.

the greizman one is a red all day every day.

Ref bottled the de jong one as it was a WC final. Any other cup or league game abd he gives a red. But didn’t want to be known as ‘the guy that sent off player in the final’.

err i know i've been bringing this up for years as it amazes me there has been no serious injuries at top level from it .
Personally wouldn't be at all surprised if someone ends up with serious spinal cord damage if it isn't stamped out .

but he was looking at firmino
He clearly didn’t see him his eyes were firmly on the ball
Which means it isn’t breaking that rule
    Same with mane and Ederson

they had no intension of going near the player
The player put themselves in that position
And solid just made a comment about that :)

doesn't matter if he saw him or not as it comes under endangering an opponent .

I think Naby gets away with it because there's nowhere anywhere near him when he hits it!
