    Saturday’s game will tell us whether the recent turndown in form has become a slump.

    Pearce & possibly Oshilaja back in central defence. Morgan has got to start ahead of any midfielder apart from Shinnie. Get Aneke in from the start, even if he can only manage 60 min.

    Won’t miss the trip to Portman Road....it was £36 last time we went up there, even though Johnnie Jackson’s last min equaliser cushioned the blow.

    Amos;
    Gunter, Barker, Pearce, Purrington;
    Morgan, Watson, Shinnie, Maatsen;
    Washington, Aneke.

    I don't think Gilbey's ready to start another game yet.

    I think Gunter and Watson need a break.

    I certainly wouldn’t be playing Barker at the moment. His time will come.

    Realistically if he was going to feature he would have done so on Wednesday. Bowyer has a difficult call to make at CB. Pearce is another injury-prone player and he will be wary of throwing him in too early, and Oshilaja won't be match-fit either.
    I agree about the Purrington/Maatsen combo on the left, at least while Famewo is injured.

    It's not ideal, but I feel it is too early for Barker. I don't want to see A right back and a midfielder playing in central defence. Famewo will be training with the first team squad next week.

    We would need a holding midfielder, particularly with a back 4 containing Pearce & Oshilaja.

    My earlier confidence has been knocked by Gilligham & Burton - and this news about Pearce.
    I fear a hammering this Saturday. Hope we give Ipswich a decent game at least.

    Sometimes we do play up against better sides.

    Both Pratley and Gunter have been excellent makeshift centre backs in recent weeks, I'd much rather have Pearce or Oshilaja in but as they're not fit so be it.

    There's no reason why Pratley & Gunter can't return to their previous performance levels after a series of individual errors. Same goes for Amos who understandably didn't receive any criticism for his errors.

    When Phillips first came into the first team he was also guilty of some dodgy passes out to defenders who had a man on, before he saw the error of his ways. Like you say, if they play safety first there's no reason for another horror show (touch wood).

    Do I detect a certain lack of enthusiasm for Maddison?

    Not surprising, given how little he has contributed so far. Bowyer called him out in public today as well. If MM thought this was a club where you get an arm around the shoulder I think he’s mistaken.

    A strange comment from Mr Bowyer today.

    Asked about Albie Morgan, he said the reason he was only a sub at Burton was that he had told the player he would be starting at Ipswich.

    “He (Morgan) is not able to play Tuesday / Saturday matches”

    WTF <yikes>

    The lad is 20, not 40.

    They must be spending a fortune on cotton wool at Sparrows Lane.
