Neil Warnock is putting the LU board of directors under a hell of a lot of pressure to back him in the transfer market this summer. In MY OPINION the best thing the supporter can do is show where backing Warnock. If that means chanting Warnocks name, demonstration's inside and outside the ground so be it. Now is the time to make ourselves heard. Lets show the club enough is enough. If Warnock doesn't get the backing he'll walk, we'll be left with Redfern or someone of the standard to manage our team because no one else will touch us. All you supporters that have bought season tickets must feel like your being robbed, lets all stand as one against Bates and his cronies. Both Bates and Harvey stated how much they hated LUFC well before they came to the club lets "it em ard." Shaw Bates ya shoe. If you see Bates and you haven't got a gun on you turn your back on him (if you dare ). IF you go in the ground or club shop don't buy anything think do I need a Leeds shirt @ half price, that will be out of date in 2 months time. "Leeds Fans Unite" "it em ard" MOT Rich
W2 D3 L4... ye he's amazing, definitely getting more out of our current "underperforming, large squad" than Grayson would have.
It's amazing how with this so called large squad we get a couple of suspensions and injuries and suddenly the likes of Thompson and Taylor are part of the 16 matchday squad. Then again they are part of the 28. So a breakdown: GK- Lonergan, Cairns (youth), Rachubka (out on loan). RB- Connolly, Turner (youth, not even sure if RB is his position) CB- Bruce, Bromby (lge 1 signing), AOB, Kisnorbo (injury prone), Lees (youth), O'Dea (loan) LB- White (youth), Parker (youth + injury prone), Taylor (youth), Robinson (loan) CM- Clayton, Brown, Vayrynen, Pugh, Nunez, Thompson (youth) wingers- Rogers, Snodgrass, Webber (loan) Strikers- McCormack, Becchio, Paynter, Somma, Forssell So out of the 28 (Rachubka excluded) 25% are from the youth and 3 are on loan. I'd say the only position we are overloaded with experienced players is at CB. That is because though we have got Bromby on a long term contract who clearly isn't good enough and wasn't always a guaranteed starter in league 1. We've Kisnorbo who was a massive gamble and fitness/injury was always going to be an issue. Therefore we needed the depth at CB. Similarly we've got 5 forwards, however we signed Forssell in September on a 1 year deal on the back of a season ending injury to Somma. The size of the squad is perfect, but the quality and how it's been assembled is very poor and certainly not of a club who has promotion as an ambition.
Warnock, although regarded as a twat etc by many, should be fully supported by you guys for now. Under the circumstances (injuries, suspensions, selling players) he is not doing a bad job. To hold Reading for 70 minutes with 10 men last night, on their home turf, was an excellent performance. Maybe did not create too many chances but the chances that were created were decent and with a little more luck one or more goals could have been scored. The defending, while not always pretty was effective and you made Reading look average. Shame the last 10 minutes or the defence buckled under the pressure and gave away a fairly soft 1st goal, I felt a 2nd goal was inevitable although it was "iffy" with the "shielding" of the ball by Jason Roberts. Was it Alex Bruce that watched the ball cross the 6 yard box to meet LeFondre's head for the first goal? Could and should have headed that over the bar.
Warnock maybe a twat, but now he's our twat. Bates will back him unless we're not top of the tree by November. There'll be a big exodus in the summer, with a few coming in. Warnock's case will be helped if those whose contracts are up for renewal AND who he wants to keep, duly re-signs. Lets hope for a good summer & a season of promotion next season
Him being a twat was never an issue. We know, and you know, he is and always has been the sort of twat that you hate until he's on your side, then you love him to bits because he says it how it is.
Sorry guys, hate not to be mainstream, but I've always loved Warnock. He's still got the anti-establishment teen rebel in him for all to see, and is one of the few remaining characters left in the game. He'll never lie down for anyone and will fight his cause to the bitter end. And don't try to criticise his team to his face ..... Brilliant. A fantastic breath of fresh air for ER.
The best thing about NW from a supporters point of view is he doesn't take any ****, he'll tell Bates what he think's and that's what's needed "BACK ME OR I'M OFF" wasn't just a message to the fan's it was also a message to the board.
Yeah I know, a real marmite job is Neil! I was not personally calling him anything but I know many football fans with no connection to him simply do not like him because he is so outspoken. I have no problem with that as it can be entertaining but it would help if he didn't twist the truth when he rants
Not a puppet which unfortunately for Grayson - He was... However i do still respect him for what he achieved in pretty dire circumstances
I'm right behind Warnock. People are slagging him off, saying his results so far are worse than Grayson's but IMO he's just trying stuff out at the moment, seeing what he has to play with and what players can and can't do. He's not God. No guarantees he will get us up but I can't think of anyone better to be managing us right now. Good thread Cozer BTW. JA606 is doing my bloody head in! Roz
