Sir Keir Starmer faces Labour backlash on Merseyside for writing Sun article | ITV News Granada I re-joined the Labour Party to vote for Starmer. Feel like I've been pissed on from a great height. There can be no accommodation, no forgiveness and no surrender to Murdoch and that rag. I appreciate the Labour number-crunchers have done their work, and winning back the Red Wall means appealing to Sun voters, and the anti-Scouse vote is a Brucie bonus to the cynical ****s. Well **** them - I'm no Corbynite, but I'm no Labourte either now. Subscription cancelled, now voting Green.
I've voted Green for a while now. Oh what's the use between death and glory? I can't tell between death and glory New labour and Tory Purgatory and no happy families One and the same, one and the same No, it's not the same It's not supposed to be the same You know about that way The way they make you pay And the way they make you toe the line I've severed my ties
You expect Tories to be out of touch with the 'common man' but Starmer is so out of touch it's unreal. His recent comments show he's also out of touch with reality. Good for you for pulling out
Old but still relevant It Says Here Billy Bragg It says here that the Unions will never learn It says here that the economy is on the upturn And it says here we should be proud That we are free And our free press reflects our democracy Those braying voices on the right of the House Are echoed down the Street of Shame Where politics mix with bingo and tits In a money and numbers game Where they offer you a feature On stockings and suspenders Next to a call for stiffer penalties for sex offenders It says here that this year's prince is born It says here do you ever wish That you were better informed And it says here that we can only stop the rot With a large dose of Law and Order And a touch of the short sharp shock If this does not reflect your view you should understand That those who own the papers also own this land And they'd rather you believed In Coronation Street capers In the war of circulation, it sells newspapers Could it be an infringement Of the freedom of the press To print pictures of women in states of undress When you wake up to the fact That your paper is Tory Just remember, there are two sides to every story
I'm a political atheist these days, nobody represents my view ,all a bunch of self serving turds, fook the lot of them.
^this. Nothing is done for the good of the nation. Everything is done for the good of themselves. There isn’t a single politician left that I respect. Sad times.
Football fans the length and breadth of the country should be yelling their dislike for the tosser Tories!!! St Pauli fans show their political alliance, some clubs in Italy and Spain (Rayo Vallecano) all show a left of centre affiliation. The only ones I have seen do it are Celtic, and Chesterfield fans in the early 80s when Tony Benn was stilll around and Thatcher was stitching up the miners, and unleashing policies that spelt the death knell for traditional industries across Northern England.
Forlorn hope, mate. There's talk of the economy recovering to pre-covid levels in the not too distant future so all we'll get is how the government's "steady hand" has guided us through these "troubled and difficult times". The human cost, with businesses going to the wall and massive price rises for basic needs will be overlooked or spun out of existence and good old Blighty will go steaming off as far away from Johnny Foreigner as we can get to a chorus of harrumphing and plastic flag waving. Until we fetch up on the shore of the US and become entirely assimilated by their sick and corrupt culture. Happy days.
they've thrown all caution away and gone for rampant borrowing here. inflation to run at 6%. thats the interesting one. lots of spending but the cost of living is going to outstrip a gains for the ordinary lad.
And very soon, Johnson will have a "fishing war" with France. I hope the French hammer him over this one. An arrogant twat like Johnson needs destroying.
Nobody wants Johnson to win this. It is not about France and the UK, it is about Johnson and his Brexit deal, which totally ignored the people of Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, London, Scotland and Northern Ireland who all voted to remain. God, I remember how Merseyside detested Thatcher. She's an angel compared to Johnson, and if it takes the French to bring him to his knees, Vive La France.
Let's hope it doesn't get nuclear: the French have got their own submarine deterrent that they didn't have to pay the Yanks £100bn for, and that they don't need their permission to use.
