Sad indicator of how far we have fallen when Fleetwood's manager is a figure of loathing and a bogeyman for some of our fans.
That happened quite quickly after Ched Evans was booted out. The two events are definitely connected.
Let's be fair, he was cock long before he became Fleetwood manager. You ever hear his Marseille accent?
Didn't know Barton played officer crabtree in 'Allo - Allo'...? That's almost as good as Schteve McClaren's Dutch.... Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. ****.
While he's not the greatest of blokes, the job he did there was pretty impressive. He's put together a very decent squad and there's no reason they can't still get a top 6 spot if they put a decent run together
If Nigel did get the job, you couldn't get two guys who are complete opposites in character at the helm.
haha!! I’ve never seen this before!! It’s a cross between allo allo & Steve Mclarens attempt at the Dutch accent!! Love it
According to The Athletic Barton's departure wasn't because of the Ched Evan's fall out, more to do with the fact that he had not accepted to sign a contract extension and wanted to wait until just before his contract expired. They feared that their better players would also not sign but wait until Barton to sign up. I can't believe the Ched Evan's saga has some effect on things.
