    ****ing horrible.

Last night I experienced something I never imagined I'd go through. Two of my sisters and my cousin were out enjoying the Bastille celebrations on holiday in Nice. I didn't know anything about it until my mum phoned me in sheer panic, unable to contact them.

The girls managed to get to the safety of their apartments in the end, but the wait to hear that they were ok went on forever. Unfortunately plenty of other families weren't as fortunate as us, they woke up this morning having to come to terms with the loss of their loved ones.

We are seeing too many events like this across the world in recent years, it's not something you imagine you're own family being caught up in.

I don't care much for who is responsible, I'm just glad my sisters and cousin are safe, and my heart goes out to the families of those who perished. Appreciate life and those around you, don't take love for granted.

I saw it and thought was just an accident originally, didn't realise someone deliberately drove into the crowd! Horrible stuff, seems like every week it's something going on now.

Glad they're all ok Zingy <ok>

It is very scary Zingy, I worry about something happening to my family more than ever. I know you can't live your life in fear but the rate at which these things are happening is ridiculous. I get more upset/disturbed by these events, particularly since having a family of my own. Always thinking about what if one of them never returns home. I'm just thankful your family are ok, but like you my heart goes out to the others.

World's absolutely sick, it always has been but this stuff is happening with alarming regularity and frequency now, nobody cares about the ****wad behind the wheel let him be drowned by history and the victims be remembered. The tolerant free world needs to act and stamp out ISIS and its despicable ideas for good

Very glad your fam are alright Zingster and sorry you had to go through that

Watching the footage, not the horrific aftermath mobile phone stuff I was unfortunate enough to see last night on social media...Although I'm of the opinion that that is exactly what should be shown to those so called vulnerable to indoctrination...

That was one brave effort by the guy on the motorbike who sped alongside the lorry trying to open the door to get to the driver...he didn't succeed and I hope he doesn't blame himself for that..not many people would have had the balls and presence of mind to try....

The worst thing in all this was when I turned the news on this morning I wasn't even shocked.
It's happening on such a regular basis that it's got to the point where it's hardly even surprising anymore.

The world is a ****ed up place these days. Bad times.

Glad they're safe Z. But also thinking of the other families that didn't make it.

To drive a lorry into a mass crowd full of women and kids is beyond comprehension. Evil ****.

Senseless killing of innocents, and with what as their goal?

IS don't seem to have one, it just appears to be barbarism for the sake of barbarism.

I can't reconcile how the man driving that truck could kill women and children of numerous creeds, colour and nationality, and for what?

Actually Zingy these things have been happening the only difference it's because it close to where you stay. So it now feels scary. I come from Kenya where we have been attacked enough times and the only thing I find different is how the media in the west reports it.

My dad is a survivor of the 98 attacks and I missed the mall attacks in 2013 by a whisker.

It's crazy though as what has killing innocent people have to do with it.

Westerners don't realise how easy they/we have it.

The majority of attacks we barely even here about.
The terror attacks in Baghdad were ****ing horrendous recently, and only on our news briefly in comparison to 49 people being shot in America (for example)

We should respect every religion, and there must be freedom of religion: You cannot force people to believe what you believe
1 John 4:20 "If you say you love God and hates your brother, you are a liar. How can you love someone you have not seen,
and hates someone you have seen?.

Pope once said, "the only thing one religion has brought to this world is violence". How right he was?.
People are crying about killing of innocents people: some are rejoicing. Please tell me is that the way God people behave?.
No one has claimed responsibility but you do not have to be a rocket scientist to work it out

The people who commit these acts can't reconcile the thoughts and beliefs they have about themselves and the world with what they are told to believe about the world by religion and so on, the contradiction and repression lends itself to their somewhat inevitable committing of such violent, disgusting acts.

The guy at Pulse nightclub couldn't live the life he wanted to and was a repressed homosexual. This guy will have his own hang-ups about the western lifestyle, I'm sure it'll come out down the line, maybe he can't take sexual thoughts about women in (semi) revealing clothes or whatever it is. I think they are deeply ashamed of what they think about the world, firstly because their thoughts go against what they are told is moral, decent and proper and secondly because of obstacles - family, culture, authorities - stopping them becoming the person they really wish to be.

They do this stuff as some attempt at redemption and cleansing, it is definitely a reflection of their own self-loathing and self-hatred. They attack in other people what they are disconnected from in themselves.

No amount of positive thinking or wishing, hoping, praying is going to make ISIS and fundamental Islamists go away. The democratic world needs to act.

Do not want to turn this into a who is responsible but if the so called democratic world would stop meddling in other countries affairs these acts would not be happening. It is sad to see what has become of Libya, Syria and Iraq. The spillover to this interference is now coming close to hurt Europeans while America sits pretty much far away from this.

You are right D..it's about having power over other people's lives because they feel they have none of their own. Religion is just the go to device they've picked.

I mean loo at their actions with the sex slaves...when their laptops are intercepted they are full of western porn...they do not live the lives they espouse...

It's no different than the likes of the USSR or North Korean leaders...enforce a way of life and "moral code" on others and live a life due to that oppressive power at a complete contradiction to their own rules..

Same with Western Elites...spouting democracy then using military power to enforce their version on others for anything but democracy..

The stories coming out from this guys neighbours are that he was an ignorant ill mannered loner...who ranted about is estranged wife who left him. Plenty saying he attempted to be a "ladies man" but came off creepy around their daughters...said he wasn't religious particularly.

So, another lonely guy going through a midlife crisis finding it easier to blame others than look at himself...if it hadn't been radical Islam he'd have found another excuse.

The likes of ISIS love these guys because it saves them actual operatives and resources...cost of a couple of online videos...

And unfortunately it's sounding like an initial police **** up. Apparently only delivery lorries should have been allowed in the area and he was questioned hours earlier by police when parked up. He told them he was delivering ice cream. Yet was allowed to park on with no peeler thinking of checking back at why he was still there.

This is exactly the kind of thing peelers over here follow up due to van bombs etc..even if excuse is accepted without initial search of van..the police are supposed to follow up to make sure it's gone.if not, suspect the worst...arrest him..where's his delivery dockets etc.

Tbf to French Police though they're burnt out..8 months of no time off due to state of emergency leads to tired minds.
