So Arsenal won the first half of the season and Leicester won the second half, did they both get a trophy? Spurs won neither so I know they didn't
I read Poch's book and he mentions that our fighting 5-1 defeat to a relegated Newcastle was due to his players "already on holiday and thinking of the Euros!". Apparently our players thought finishing 2nd instead of 3rd was meaningless to them. The season was over. If this was the case, the players needed their arses kicked and wages stopped ( some hopes!). My thoughts were the fans who spent a lot of money going to Newcastle to support them....and told '**** you!"
There is Citeh, who always look like they are quadruple capable and will finish on 90+ pts. Then clubs like Chelsky and Spurs. who if they try to be equally competitive every season, are going to pay the price in the PL by losing at least 15 pts in the final reckoning. Then the Poool, who if they ditch domestic competitions or have no UEFA involvement, have the chance every few seasons to be in a PL title fight.
12 fcukwits voted “Arsenal & United” finishing 3rd & 4th. I’d be embarrassed if I was limited to that standard of abject footy knowledge.
It would certainly make it easier for Spurs to finish 3rd. You're not doing too well on your own without others around helping you out mate.
Same is true of Arsenal, Chelsea and United...the 4 of us get into a decent position and then piss it up the wall...the next four games are going to be torturous for all 4 sets of fans
We're not finishing top 4 mate. It's one of those things that I felt was unlikely in December so when Ole took over really just looked forward to next season. There was a bit of the unlikely being achieved after the first 3 months of Ole taking over but I just thought it would be a good achievement from where we were. For those reasons and the fact we really are playing badly atm, I'm kind of indifferent to the results now. Looking forward to the clear out in the summer and next season tbh.
Were we the only club in the PL who didn't buy a player.....yet gave the top 5 a run for "their money?"
So no one wants 4th then? I thought Chelsea might show a bit of interest, and indeed they did for about 20 minutes last night, but nope. Imagine if Everton had started playing last September instead of last month? Maybe they’d be 4th.
