Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang once again proved how important he is to Arsenal on Sunday with a beautifully taken free kick. The striker was instrumental as Unai Emery’s men fought back from a 2-1 deficit to claim a hard fought 3-2 victory over Aston Villa.

Since arriving at Arsenal Aubameyang has consistently put in TOP class performances. The guy is lightening quick, deadly in the box and can score from distance.

Incredibly, the 30-year-old has converted 26.2 per cent of his shots since his debut, with Jamie Vardy (25.4) and Javier Hernandez (24.4) coming in second and third on that list respectively.

    • Aubameyang has either scored or assisted in every Premier League game this season
    • Aubameyang has never gone more than three Premier League games without scoring for Arsenal
    • In 72 games for the Gunners in all competitions, Aubameyang has scored 48 goals and registered 12 assists
    • Despite not making his debut until February 2018, the striker is Arsenal’s top Premier League goalscorer since the start of the 2017/18 season. Aubameyang has 38 goals and Alexandre Lacazette is second with 29
    • Aubameyang’s goal against Newcastle earlier this season was his 33rd goal in his first 50 Premier League matches. Only three other players have scored more in their first 50 Premier League games
    • After 50 Premier League games, Aubameyang had a better goalscoring record than Thierry Henry. The Arsenal legend scored 30 league goals for the club in that time while the Gabonese striker had 34 goals
    • Aubameyang has 16 goals in his last 16 games in all competitions for Arsenal
    • Since Aubameyang’s Premier League debut he has scored 38 league goals, which is four more than Sergio Aguero. Mohamed Salah (39) is the only player to score more goals in that time.
The stats are good but even more impressive when you consider he is often pushed out of position to the left wing in order to accomodate Lacazette. Personally I would give him the armband.
