A good news story, remember the name, Beth the bricky apprentice from Hull who had her tools stolen a while back. Well, the girl's done good, & made it to the final of the Screwfix Trade Apprentice 2020, in top 10 out of over 1400 entries! I'm sure you will all join in offering congrats to Beth, one of our own, a fantastic achievement to reach the top 10, but good luck, go girl for the final. HDM article; Beth Skinner, 21, is studying towards a bricklaying qualification at Hull College. She has been selected for her sheer passion for the trade, determination to succeed and demonstrating how she is already going above and beyond the call of duty for her college, employer and customers. Beth, who is thrilled to have reached the final stage, said: “If I were to win Screwfix Trade Apprentice 2020, I would do everything I can to promote the bricklaying trade and the construction industry to young people. I love walking away each day knowing that I have achieved something, that I’ve laughed a lot and that I get to do it all over again tomorrow.” The two-day event will begin with the finalists participating in a digital academy day with innovative and educational workshops from specialist media school, Global Academy. The finalists will get the chance to be involved in a variety of unique sessions including how to run their social media, develop a brand and analyse their current marketing activity. On Thursday, June 25, the finalists will get the opportunity to share their experiences and ambitions as an apprentice with a panel of industry-leading judges. The worthy winner will take home the ultimate trade prize bundle worth £10,000.
