Sorry to hear you are still struggling, I understand your reticence. Is what you are doing in line with medical advice? As you've had covid, you will have antibodies from that, but I don't know how long that will last. The other thing you'll need to weigh up is whether they go down the vaccination passport path. I think for travel you'll definitely struggle without the jab, and possibly getting into a pub/cinema/restaurant/stadium etc.
I had AZ , felt a bit fuzzy headed that evening and next morning had a mild hang over, took a couple of paracetamol and walked the dog and was ok by mid afternoon
I had Novovax, as I was on the trial. Except it turned out I didn't, because I was one of the control group that didn't get it. Bastards. I know it's because I'm a Spurs supporter, bloody American vaccines. Multiple trips to the Royal Free and lots of blood tests. Apparently it's all in a good cause, but I can't think of a better cause than me getting the vaccine early. Anyway, have had one AZ now, next one in a couple of weeks.
I had AZ last Friday pm. Woke to feeling of nausea and general ugh! Then had a couple of hot flushes - getting no sympathy from the missus. ' Now you know what it's like' was the closest that comments came to sympathy! Sunday generally felt under the weather. Monday fine - apart from picking up messages from Bill Gates in my inner ear...
She looks too much like Meghan Markle for the Mail's...and Sun's...and Express'...and Torygraph's liking
Diabetics seldom go to the pub so that will not be a problem. Diabetes and alcohol is incongruous. I have probably drunk at least 3 times more than the average person in my lifetime so I have to accept that I am 'full'. I couldn't walk from the the stadium to the Seven Sisters at the moment, so 'stadium' is not a problem either. Until they let busses drive past the stadium on matchday it will stay like that. I wrote to to club to highlight this issue when I declined to renew my season ticket. They were sympathetic but offered no solution. Considering the cost of the season ticket the club ought to put on free busses for those who need them on match days. I no longer use restaurants to the extent I used to. I am generally working from home, so I have my main meal at lunch time as by the time I finish work I am too tired to do anything. Despite not smoking anymore, 8 years tobacco, 13 months ecig, I've not been to a cinema since they banned smoking in them. Must be nearly 40 years, so currently vaccine passports are not going to affect me much. Nevertheless, in the event that they make them compulsory to use shops, it would cause me issues. However, if necessary, the Mrs could do the shopping, she does most of it anyway. The french have already said NON to vaccine passports and we all know what happens to french leaders who go against their people. Perhaps the British should embolden themselves and take a leaf out of the french's 'do as we say or else' attitude. Johnson would not last long, but he could probably find himself a conservative donor to buy him a nice suit to wear to the guillotine. Until/if I get better, I won't be travelling abroad. Medical advice was that I should decide for myself re vaccination, like you, my doctor understands my reticence to have the jab. I am under a blood specialist and they take regular samples to assess me, so many samples in fact I joke they are probably selling the stuff. My arms are often like pincushions, I know how a junkie must feel. I read someone who had Covid the same time as me still had antibodies around 200 (whatever the units are) whilst people who have had 2 jabs are generally in the range 50-80 units, so I am not too worried about reinfection at the moment. Also everybody who had SARS1 and survived are still immune to both SARS1 and SARS2, so I think the government may not be 100% honest about how long immunity lasts to encourage everyone to be jabbed, i.e. to cover off the possibility of false positive people avoiding the jab. I don't trust politicians, left, centre or right they all look after No.1 (or No. 10 in certain cases). I become more like Statler or Waldorf every day.
If only somebody could create a banner that underlines why I can't take the Lunatic Fringe seriously ...what's that?
Lee Mason is to retire as a referee at the end of the season. He's going to become a full-time VAR official.
