Except Real Madrid are very much part of Franco's Spain which you could argue are in a direct line from the Spanish Inquisition. He chose to work for them, as for Bale, the Welsh are famous for making bad decisions throughout history.
I wish him and your family all the best. I remember noticing a lot of people don't seem to get joking about serious health issues. A hospitaL my family frequented had an interesting parking compensation policy, which seemed to be: tragic news = comped parking; otherwise, pay up, bub. So naturally we weighed up the pros and cons of dying on the operating table versus paying eight bucks to park the car. I don't know why nobody else found that even slightly amusing,
I think laughter is the best medicine......although there's definitely a place for strong drugs. My closest mate had testicular cancer and when he lost his hair, we spent the entire time he was bald doing ridiculously stupid stuff involving his shiny dome. Although one of the funnest things I've ever done was when he brought home the differently sized specimen prosthetic testicle replacements and off our tits, we played marbles with them. I nearly died laughing.
We have bred societies of victims. People want their victimhood so how dare you show a method of dealing with it without becoming a rather pathetic victim.
Steve Earl, the 'King of Football Programmes' is selling his stock of over 1 million programmes. Included in his collection is this baby.... ...it's probably worth £1,500 - £2,000 and maybe more. I've tried suggesting that it's a great investment and then begging but to no avail, Mrs B is unmoved........ A few years back [about 5 or so] I bought a Clash album signed by all 4 members, Joe, Mick, Paul & Topper and paid £36 for it. I recently had an estimation of £500+, so these things can be a gold mine and well worth investing in, if you can find the right one.
My mrs went out for a driving lesson at 12:15 today and she's not back yet. I'm getting worried......for every other road user in Kent.
RIP William Dunlop, son of the late Robert and nephew of Joey Dunlop. Like The Haslam's, a motorcycle dynasty that has lost too many.
I'm going to guess Holte Bellends didn't write this: http://www.avillafan.com/28494/tottenham-club-villa/
A supporter writing with his non-tribal hat on. For every one of him, there are 100s who would say similar of Spurs in private.
I hope he reads it, though. "Perhaps most frightening of all for me is the fact that we outspent Tottenham yet again in our first Championship season. Spurs would finish 2nd in the Premier League that year whilst we languished in 13th place in the division below. If that doesn’t tell the whole story, I’m not sure what does." Ouch.
Articles like this make me laugh. I've seen the same views from Everton and Newcastle fans. No doubt, there are a number of other clubs fans that think the same about their clubs in comparison to us - "why have we underperformed compared to Spurs?" What Daniel Levy, ENIC and Spurs have achieved is truly remarkable and built upon nearly 2 decades of adherence to a philosophy of how to run a proper business in an industry with as much long term thinking as a mayfly. The issue isn't why haven't other clubs achieved what Spurs have done? It's how the hell have Spurs done so much better than anyone else during ENIC's ownership? I'm not sure that it's possible for any club to make that transformation any more. The level of financial disparity between 'The Big 6' in terms of shirt deals, shirt sponsorships, CL income, etc. in comparison to other PL clubs make it extremely difficult to do. I don't see an Everton being able to make that transition now, new stadium or not. They might finish above 1 or 2 of those clubs but above 3 to make the CL? They, or another club, might even have a great season but they're still going to lose their best players and have to 'go again' after those players are playing for bigger clubs. All the time, the gap between 'The Big 6's income and the others is growing ever larger
