Morsy another shot well saved. Come on Town, this is a game we can win. I wish we had another striker up top!
Time for a change or two. Like to see Celina off, not so effective today, Chaplin and the Pig on, need more up front to support Bonne, who is seeing v little.
For all our good play, and dominance, we lacked that final cutting edge and striker's punch, Bonne with no real support and several simple chances went begging. Need a hard look at our forward play. Change the format.
No way that was a pen. We should have buried them 1st half and out of sight 2nd. Harsh result, but thats us, no real consistency.
Hugely disappointing. Sunderland were never in the game but they broke up our play with dirty challenges and their direct approach won through in the end. The fact they are so awful and we failed to break them down shows how much work we still have to do. For some good moments and a lot of very good defensive work, there’s a lot for us to improve - Defenders not comfortable on the ball. - Poor distribution from Walton all afternoon. - Lots of work needed on crosses. - No man on the post for the goal. - Striking the ball. - Too much backward play. Overall there was far too much hesitancy, especially from Aluko and the goalkeeper. Sunderland by the way, should be embarrassed by their team for the constant hacking and also their supporters today. You could have heard a mouse from their end until the goal went in.
Chaplin better than Celina and we missed him today. Fraser better than Evans who made mostly sideways passes again.
I dunno SD. Agree that Chaplin is the other effective attacking player after Bonne. It felt like the only player always looking for the forward pass was Morsy. Edwards was lively but no end product. What impressed me most was our defensive work. We were well short of our best in other areas.
