At the same time is sexism what makes nursing 90% females as surely we should be getting a 50/50 split?
Not sure tbh. I doubt there is any overt sexism in the selection but it's interesting that there still seem to be jobs that are thought to be for women. Probably a sign of institutionalised sexism in society rather than bias.
I don't care enough about it tbh. Why are we focusing on black managers anyway when there is still a lack of opportunity for players, and I'm not talking about black players. British asians don't get a look in even when they're good enough. I've seen it myself at trials. This was about 15 yes ago but situation doesn't appear to have changed. It's always about playing it safe rather than any overt racism tbh. Takes a Ron Atkinson to break the taboo. Unless you're Marcel Desailly. He didn't like him.
Maybe it’s because Sol Campbell comes across as an egotistical maniac with very strong nonce vibes radiating from his every pour.
Our "manager" had heart issues and was replaced by caretaker managers (Shearer and Dowie) who got us relegated. Hughton got the role because Ashley is a cheapskate and he was an in-house appointment. As for people saying special rules should not apply as it should be a level playing field it pretty clearly is not a level playing field. Anyone who can't see there's a difference between white ex-players getting into management and black ex-players simply doesn't want to see it.
You hounded out Hughton, Fat Sam, Sir Bobby etc Cos yer all horse ****ing, dog punching ****s please log in to view this image
Of course theres institutionalised sexism but its a physiological one too. Women are naturally more caring so maybe thats why they go into nursing rather than pallette packing like our buddy comm who gives a shout out to the softies everyday. I think this where the angle is wrong, you say its sexism that women get more nursing jobs because we force them into it, and you will probably say its sexism keeping girls away from engineering jobs (i dont deny some might be put off whether through home influence etc). Like all things that change it probably needs to be a generational thing. Back to lack of black managers but whats whats the make up for black foreign players to normal black players and vice versa for white ones. Maybe theres a case that most of them fancy going back home after a long arduous career and have earnt enough. I think we forget that (maybe this is a stereotype) for the likes of ekotto (french), i reckon suarez, drogba etc they come from poor backgrounds and want to either help their country or just enjoy the money they have earnt.
He didn't though,he coached at Spurs for years and most of their new managers kept him on when they took over,he earned his chance imho 1997 Tottenham Hotspur (caretaker) 2003–2005 Republic of Ireland (assistant manager) 2008 Newcastle United (caretaker) 2009–2010 Newcastle United 2011–2012 Birmingham City 2012–2014 Norwich City 2014–2019 Brighton & Hove Albion
Hounded out houghton? Utter nonsense, Ashley got rid of him and fans protested to keep him. Feel free to go check, you are simply wrong there.
Think you'll find Hughton is still held in high regard by Newcastle fans. Ashlyn Attempts to rewrite history as above are as admirable as they are nonsense. Hounded out indeed...
Well yeah that's fair enough, but the comments regarding Hughton in particular are the exact opposite of what happened. Fans protested in the games after he had been sacked as we thought in was uncalled for. Then he posts a meme making out that I'm being stupid to back up his #fakenews. Ah well, big fan Comm but every so often we have to fall into our partizan factions.
I think they are getting all excited for whatever reason,I had to point out that Hughton didn't walk straight into a job and I still think no one believes me
Oh god yeah, been posting with Comm for best part of a decade. His rants are pretty good fun and run like clockwork. Not having that about Hughton but the rest of it was on the money anyway.
