It's Friday already and in the absence of anything from Masky, I thought I'd just put this up to start the ball rolling. If you want to put one of your "usuals" (or unusuals ) up Masky, I'll merge them. Now then, is it a simple question that if Warnock starts Tomlin tomorrow, we'll win, but if he doesn't we'll lose?
I don't think it's that simple Sparkey. Hopefully we can kick on after Wednesday's game but in my view we're really missing a Gunnar, Arter type of midfielder with a good engine who can break up the play. Did I read somewhere that Colin might be using Tomlin sparingly? Either way I think we'll find it tough at Blackburn and although a win would be great I'll take a draw now.
Simple answer, yes. I think he'll get the best out of murphy and glatzel. Though given we're away, we'll probably have hoillet in place of murphy.
I watched the highlights of midweek on city tv. Glatzel should have had a couple. One from a superb free kick from Tomlin. He’s got to come good sometime soon. I suspect NW may bench Tomlin and bring him on 2nd half if it’s not going well. Wouldn’t be surprised if he picked a more defensive looking eleven with Paterson at no 10. Blackburn rode their luck at Hull midweek but look like a half decent team this season. I fear our statuesque central defence and shaky keeper may be our undoing again.
Warnock must continue with the Tomlin/Murphy/Glatzel triangle even though we're away. That combo is going to produce goals from open play down the left - it's the other side I'm not sure about. I'd have no probem with either Whyte or a fully fit Mendez on the right, but after watching a reluctant/tentative Mendez against Reading, it's got to be Whyte or even Hoilett on the "wrong side". I suspect the more defensive away game option will be wheeled out again with an emphasis on a solid midfield choice from Ralls, Bacuna, Vaulks, Paterson, Hoilett and even Nelson sitting tight and waiting for the break. I'd love to see Warnock break the mould for this one and attempt to get some momentum going.
Agreed Sparks. Play to your assets. I don't think a defensively minded midfield is an asset. Even if Tomlin only lasts an hour it gives an opportunity to score goals. Without him there is little creativity and the front 3 are left to make what they can. After all its 11 v 11. They have no superstars so there is no reason we can't take the game to them. If Tomlin plays he needn't play v Luton and gets 6 day rest before Fulham.

Nathan Blake’s take on it https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/how-cardiff-city-should-use-16805567
I would go Smithies Peltiet Morrison Flint Bennett Junior Ralls Tomlin Murphy Whyte Tomlin Bogle. Our central midfielders are not up to it. Id try Hoillet there. If Patterson was fit id play Patterson instead of Whyte.
Well if you're going to play Tomlin twice, I'd have thought there was room for Glatzel instead of one of them............
Ken Zohore just missed a bloody sitter for West Brom just before half time at Derby and they've gone in 1-0 down.
Cardiff City: Smithies, Peltier, Bennett, Morrison (c), Flint, Bacuna, Ralls, Glatzel, Murphy, Tomlin, Whyte. Substitutes: Day, Vaulks, Vassell, Paterson, Nelson, Bogle, Hoilett.
