So, today sees us take on the ‘Blades’ after a VERY disappointing result against the Brewers on Tuesday, when DF was culpable in leaving his substitutions too late to have any positive effect. I expect JM to be reinstated to the starting 11 and Tettey reckons his knees are up to playing 3 games in 8 days. The bad news from yesterday’s presser is that Basil has a groin strain and will probably not be available until after the next international break (after the Reading game) and so CJ will probably be leading the line, but I see in today’s EDP that DF is promising us a new frontline - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...arke-ready-to-unleash-new-frontline-1-5197085 The Blades have scored only 1 more goal than us, but they have only conceded 5. Let’s hope we can ‘blunt’ their attack and sneak a win by the odd goal – I’d happily take a 0-1.
OK canario - we'll agree to differ on that point!!! I do expect him to score today however, as he'll feel he has a point to prove.
So here we go again: away to a team who were promoted last season. Aston Villa (18th), Milwall (19th) and Sunderland (20th) all have only one win this season - against Norwich. We drew at home to Burton (21st) and only just beat Birmingham (22nd). I can't see NCFC getting any better than a draw and would agree with many that we will not get into top 6. It looks like another disappointing season.
So, just 7 games in to a 46+ game season, the folly of not adding a striker to the (very limited) ranks comes back to haunt us. Jerome is largely a spent force and Watkins is not an out and out striker, so, in other words, we're fooked in the short term.

Looks as good a team as DF could put out and interesting to see Rusty once again omitted from the starting line-up. I HOPE we can keep a clean sheet today, as the Blades have struggled to score goals as well as us.
Falke stated on Radio Norfolk that he is very happy with his squad, so do we take it that he did not feel that getting another striker in the last transfer window was necessary? Strikers who are any good tend to be expensive and this is probably why another was not bought in.
Totally agree and I think we need to be realistic and see this as a 'rebuilding season'. If you look at the goals for total last season, I'm certain that under 50% were scored by our 2 strikers. Edit - So once again Martin isn't EVEN on the bench!!!!
