Early Wailers are pure magic, substituting Bunny and Peter with those "Three Little Birds" was not a good idea. Redemption Song is a brilliant performance and a promising new direction, which sadly came too late, on another thread, the Wailers would I am sure be singing Get up Stand Up.

BM,Dylan and a few others not my cup of tea but that's just me.
Enjoy listening to most pop music but don't really get into it as I've never had a musical bent.
As a couple we have Gold Radio on when around the house or in the car, enjoy reminiscing our 60s.

Correct about Queen... bunch of ****ers

Wrong about Bob Marley, although perhaps too much weed will have affected performances

Bob Dylan is another great song writer, terrible singer

Each to their own. I'm a huge Fall fan, but have no problem and find it understandable that the majority of the world think they are awful. Makes me feel blessed that I am part of a minority that fully 'get' them. On the other side of the coin. Cant stand the Beatles. I understand why they were popular at the time. First boy band really. But I think the younger generations since have been brainwashed, by their parents and by the media, that they are gods when in fact they are mediocre. But a vast amount of people still love them. I have been told by friends, who are massive fans, that I just dont 'get' them and I'm ignorant, that I need to listen to the albums. I dont like their popular songs, so why would I listen to their albums? I respect them for what they achieved, but they are just not my cup of tea.

Hang on, I'll just go and find my tin hat........

His last album, he sings canny.

Big fan of Bob Dylan, probably the first person to achieve stardom by not being able to sing particularly well. You could probably put Bob Dylan and the Beatles in the same bracket. Big fan of Bob, dont like the Beatles. Cant explain it, doesnt need explaining.

Oh, and you forgot to add.....terrible harmonica player. I wish you can get his albums where they have been remastered, with his harmonica pushed into the background instead of it being a risk to the integrity of my windows. His John Wesley Harding album in particular, it is almost ruined by it.

Yeah I saw him live a few times.... Obviously the studio sound desks did a great job making his records playable.

Honestly, I've never understood the appeal. I have a blind spot towards them, I confess.

I'm with you as the minority on that one, as a group I hated them. I've had some stick over the years for saying that. As individual artists I'm fine, but how the Beatles became the bar in British music is beyond me.

If they were all still with us and they started playing in my back garden I would close the curtains.
