I think I'd rather risk falling asleep and dying on the M1 than that. Fair play to you. I'm pondering Barnsley still- will probably do it and stay somewhere if we beat Burton.
I tend to stay up in the area whenever we play Boro and get some mountain biking in Unfortunately I'll be missing Barnsley - but 4 days in Paris with the other half is probably a better option....back in time on the Friday for Fulham at home though
First visiting side to score there this season and the first side to score more than a single goal in the league for over 3 years. ( Aug 2014 )
Excellent performance from all, a great game to watch. Would rather watch a good performance when we've lost. Boro's winner should not have stood!
We're still doing better in terms of points and playing much better than I expected, so can't complain.
Take my tip and stay in a pub or B and B between Darlington and Stockton-On-Tees next time. It's only 5-15 miles by car from there and much much better
On the whole a fair reflection from the armchair viewers and listeners to the game I saw. A rousing performance against a very good side. They were indeed better but then they should be given the finances. Equally their fans would not have complained too much if we had equalised. We have a spirit and style of play that suits the team and rewards the supporters rather than insulting them week in week out. The banter was top notch and their fans to either side of us applauded us as we trudged away. Impossible to feel disappointed or frustrated by that although I do fear that injuries will play havoc with our season. at least until January/February. We can see the problems but let's not lose sight of the many positives in that performance. Not sure what the cries of tinkering are based on as none of the changes made were due to anything other than injuries and the replacements performed well especially the new lad Wheeler. What a way to start - he got caught out of position once or twice but that's something that can be taught or beaten out if him depending on the theories of education you subscribe to
Funny that cos when I watched today on bigger screen, my initial reaction was that the ball looked out of play. Oh well, swings and roundabouts - allegedly.
We couldn't see it as it was down the other end of the pitch. My initial thought on seeing it on replay was that it had crossed the line but seeing it again a couple of times from one angle only was inconclusive as the ball was in the air. The lino and ref wouldn't have been able to make a clear judgment about it given their relative positions
Cannot complain as Boro are a decent side only gripe is that our defence still looks poor. Well done to Wheeler!
I can't complain the defence looks poor when all our centre-halves are missing. Robinson is doing his best and better than I expected but any half decent attack will put a couple past us as it is.
I didn't see yesterday's game, but I think Robinson had done well at CB in the previous two games. He would be fine in a three alongside two experienced CBs, but he's bound to be exposed in a makeshift back four.
The edited highlights show clearly the defensive frailties. Are we still playing the sweeper-type role without Hall and, if so, who's filling this role right now?
I thought Robinson looked unsure and hesiitant at CB against Millwall but was a lot better yesterday. Hope he continues to improve there, we need him! Baptist looked better too.
