I wouldn't sign him mind based on his time here. He's been very poor and lost a lot of possession. I'd like to think he can build on that last night. He's been at Spurs and Schalke, its high level stuff so there must be something there.

I remember making a few sub appearances at the start when he didn't do much and also getting a red card.

Looks like he hasn't been given a proper opportunity to do his stuff, hoping last night's display gets him more start.

I'd sign him based in his ability... he hasn't played for a long time so it was expected.. he has more ability than most our cm players... I'm not sure you'd get much for 10 million these days either... if the idea is to pass and have possession you need players like that. he'd be a good squad player...

didn't you see him at spurs? he's a good player in comparison to what we've got . he has a bad attitude apparantky and that's why his career went downhill.. maybe he's changed... look at Hayden now ... he's better because he's been played through tough times .

If he's a squad player then he would get minimal time on the pitch and according to you he's **** because he hasn't played much. Doesn't sound triffic to me

I've sent Lee C to Greggs, any particular requests. Would a yum yum help you settle in?

Guess I'll have to record more games and watch them later as I'm still at work at 6pm if we're going to put performances like that in...

Extremely risky I have to say. If we were taken over I don't think he'd be the right profile of player for us. All depends what happens but I'd want him to at least show some more over the last few games. Maybe another year on loan if we don't get taken over.

Moot point really because today is the day

we would still need more than one layer is the way I see things .

I keep hearing people talking about who the club should keep in and around the current 1st 11

    erm all of them

    build on it

Yeah someone like Hayden is a good player to have around. I still think he is limited, but if he was sitting behind a top class holding midfielder, he could do a job for a season. Of course you'll move on from these players, but the changes won't happen overnight. Fans have a habit of going all Football Manager. Sell the lot and just buy 22 new players. Reality is different. Its about getting maybe 4 or 5 high quality players in each of the first 2-3 windows. It'll take 2-3 seasons to get the basis of the squad in place to take us to the higher level. Same with Manquillo I think he'd be ok as back up and last night showed he can give you some versatility too. The likes of Lascelles, Schar, Fernandez, even Lejeune can assist. Someone like Lazaro I can see being of use.

We are ok in certain areas. They'll want a top class centre back, top class holding midfield, top class ball playing midfield, top class number 10 and a top class striker as soon as possible. But its gonna be a while before we can attract them. So we may have to do a Man C and look at burgeoning talents like Kompany. He was about 22 but highly thought of when they got him.

It took Man C a while to get the likes of David Silva, Fernandinho, Toure, Aguero, Kompany in place. But that was the spine which made them good. We would have to be patient, but it would be exciting while it was happening anyway.
