Don't think this will ever actually happen. The negatives outweigh the positives But... This is a warning shot to Uefa (and the national leagues) that the 'big' clubs want more money and less sharing of the revenues. Its greedy, but since these clubs make up for a huge sum of the money generated I see the reason for not wanting to share. Its yet another power play for Greed in football
Well, **** me, my thread was merged. I think luvgonzo and zanjinho are having an affair. luvgonzo clicks his fingers and guess what
Not sure it’ll actually happen. I’m not sure players want it if it means they couldn’t play at world cups etc, unless they all got massive pay rises. just don’t get why would want to happen, the excitement of playing Madrid and Barca or Bayern is because it doesn’t happen every week.
Not Bayern. German and French clubs have come out against it. Germany has rules that mean one single person can own more than 49% of a club. Meaning most have alot of fan ownership who are always going to vote it down.
Pure greed. I'd hope that all the relevant supporters' groups tell them they want nothing to do with it.
Been my stance all along; if Liverpool join a European team they can get ****ed as far as I'm concerned
I wonder what the actual end game is here. Its timing is right before the cl new format is published. You would have to wonder if there are twin objectives of securing extra teams in the cl for england and of course just perhaps breaking the fair distribution of premier.elavie tv money. If the clubs came.out of this having taken more.money from the premier league pot (and the other 14 getting less like in la liga) and end up with 6 in a champions league format then surely this would completely vanish as a topic.
Just for the record... when merging threads we don't get to choose which one will be the OP, it's done automatically based on time. If yours isn't first, you didn't post it first.
So six PL clubs with Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea confirmed. Other two will be Spurs and Man City. Says twelve clubs in total naming Real Madrid, Barca, Juve and Inter but who do we think the other two are? I'll go with Bayern and PSG
Arsenal Chelsea Liverpool Manchester City Manchester United Tottenham (very lucky to be in the number) Atletico Madrid, Barcelona Real Madrid AC Milan Inter Milan Juventus that is 12. Of the "other clubs" PSG like all french are hiding and waving a white flag even though they probably are involved. they are playing both side off like good little surrender monkeys. Bayern seem to be denying it. Ajax for me should be in there. Logically it makes more sense to be as european royalty and a side more than capable of having a fine team and wonderful facilities but held back as long as it is in its semi pro league. After that really we do get to the point don't we. If you want to put together a MEGA league why would you have spurs? I can understand most of the rest, even arsenal (no european pedigree but massive) but in reality you come to the point that you start to struggle to find really big clubs capable of feasting at this table. I for one think LFC need their heads examining as we would be total whipping boys. The amount of resources required to assemble a team capable of actually competing when you don't have also rans to whup means that if you look round and can't see any then you are the whipping boy.
