No, I made a reply to an assertion about the Worldwide value of a 12 club league that used US sports as a marker. There’s a world of difference between people flicking it on, and directly paying for that product btw. As for the ad hominem that’s ironic in the extreme. Twat.
yes but its ****. they own new york city. also meloboune city yokohama montevideo city girona sichuan jiuniu mumbai city lommel SK troyes and are linked to several other clubs across europe and beyond. malaysia, russia, south africa, ecuador etc etc they are a blight on football, peopel just dont see the end game yet.
I think its a good debate, no need to get uptight guys. I think in general there is agreement on the core point and just different views on the end game.
I knew you'd come out with some **** like that. I'd be at every single match if I could afford it, home and away. Simple fact; I can't. Must not love them as much eh?
Not what I said, so that’s a strawman. The fact is you don’t and never have followed them up and down the land every week, so your perspective is likely different to mine. It doesn’t make me a better fan, it makes our perspectives different. So you say you’d find it difficult to stop watching whereas I most definitely wouldn’t. And why? Because the game is all about the pyramid for me, some of the best times I’ve had at aways has been at lower league cup games. Same when they come to us, and bring more than their average home gate in some cases, as they’re all there for the experience, and they love it, that’s a massive pet of what the game is about for me & if my club wanted to lob that away for some closed shop so called ‘elite’ league they’d be dead to me. Easy.
Nope. I said they could ****ing do one but in reality, may feel different. Who knows? None of us have ever been in that position. You telling me that after 50ish years of following Everton you'd just switch off? Not even look at results etc?
Yes, I honestly can. It’d no longer be my club, it’d hurt like hell, but I’d drop them like a stone, AFTER I’d done everything I could do. to stand arm in arm with people who feel exactly the same way, in order to try and stop it. But if it went ahead I’d defo be done. Absolutely no question about it.
@moreinjuredthanowen Johnson said the plans would be "very damaging for football" and that the UK government supports football authorities "in taking action". He added: "The clubs involved must answer to their fans and the wider footballing community before taking any further steps."
That is pretty much nail on head As much as we fans don’t like it plastic or local it doesnt matter. It is the mass global fan base in Asia-australasia-usa etc that will drive so whether you face it or not there WILL be a demand for this Like many I won’t want to watch it but another 100 will replace me I will be off to watch Wyre Villa and that will be that. As I keep saying once the prem ‘broke away’ this was always coming and in fairness as I recall many many people pointed it out. so it is no surprise
Just history repeating Tobes The government cannot stop this If those clubs want it and agree they will find a way and someone will pay top dollar for it Very very sad times
Tbf they were invited on the prem and they did what all clubs invited will generally do This isn’t or should t be a club thing However - sadly I feel that this happened back in 92 it’s just taken a while to arrive I am seething about it but as a few of you have said it’s easy to be outraged I am already reduced to listening on radio and watching my mates short videos lol of games and incidents I will probs do what Tobes said and start watching Wyre but also do what Z said and listen to our results and still come on here to be a pessimistic twat lmao
Seriously, just look at how City and PSG...even Chelsea have hoovered up top talent and outspent everyone, making a mockery out of FFP....and ask yourself how a football club can compete. This is how. You increase your market or market share. While I hope that it doesn’t get off the ground, I do hope that, whilst doing so, they also take the opportunity to fix issues above. Football is broken in so many ways.
I could see this growing to something similar with almost an identical season setup of 16 games loads of mini leagues Alternating home and away over two seasons with divisional teams meeting twice Tbh piss easy to replicate The transfer system would need to be overhauled and replaced by something like a draft system though
