    Team News:
Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and fellow striker Alexandre Lacazette are both unwell and will not be available.

The Gunners could hand a competitive debut to £50m defender Ben White, while Albert Lokonga and Nuno Tavares may also make their Premier League bows.

Thomas Partey is out for the rest of the month after suffering an ankle injury in the pre-season defeat by Chelsea.

Eddie Nketiah (ankle) and Gabriel Magalhaes (knee) are also missing.

    Hopefully this then:

    Leno
    Bellerin
    White
    Holding
    Tierney
    Lokonga
    Xhaka
    Pepe
    Smith-Rowe
    Saka
    Martinelli

If Martinelli doesn't start when Auba, Laca and Nketiah are all unavailable then Arteta can go **** himself...

That front four there is exciting. Unleash them.

you wouldn’t start Balogun? With Auba and Laca out, he won’t get a better, easier chance to start than this

Not a bad starting 11 given the circumstances - but that bench is horrific. We have a half-fit Saka to turn things around if things aren't going to plan...

I just hope the old heads can shore up and keep their heads, and allow the rookies to get themselves into the game and make a difference!

I think we may just start the season with 3 defeats.

Normally when I slate arsenal half way through, we make a comeback.

So **** off Arteta, get sacked.

    Actually embaressing.

Lokonga and Smith Rowe look like the only decent players in our side tonight.

Chambers constantly leaving White exposed, Balogun doesnt look ready for this level, Martinelli has been invisible.

Arteta will be gone by October unless he can make some decent signings.

I can bet you couple of quid that Laca and Auba are not in the match day squad as some sort of punishment. How is it possible 2 of your star players have suddenly taken ill? Arteta, has not achieved anything in his managerial career to warrant, leaving your 2 most experienced players out of the match day squad. October, he will be gone?? You mean we have to wait that long?? How about now, so we can give the likes of Conte a chance to do something in the transfer window!

    This is embarrassing.

We’re getting outplayed and dominated by a team who probably cost less than Pepe. Does anyone seriously believe Brentford are better than us man for man?

For me, this is proof that Arsenal’s issues won’t be resolved by a few players - the deeper issues are with the quality of the coaching.

Arteta’s been at the club for nearly 2 years and hasn’t been able to get a balance and has made us look vulnerable defensively, whilst blunting our attack.

The only way we go on a upward trajectory is if we sack Arteta and hire a good manager.

The thing is Arsenal have got rid of most the staff above Arteta Edu. Theres basically no-one to fire the incompetant twats.

The board and Edu have a lot to answer for in terms of transfer activity. Our worst season in a long time last year and our squad looks worse off!

This is beyond humiliating. We deserve nothing. Pathetic all round.

    Arsenal are absolutely finished.

And the Clubs £100m odd in debt. The once best run club in the country is a total shambles.

Do you think Arsenal are a big enough pull these days for the likes of Conte?

Pretty much viewed as a mid-table side now. No european football to offer. Probably not going to have much cash to throw at it.

I don't see an elite manager taking that job, now. Your best bet is looking for a manager like Brendan Rodgers who might take the job but even jumping from Leicester to Arsenal would be a big ask for somebody, at the moment.

I look at this team and I don’t necessarily see 11 **** players on the pitch. I see a team that can’t play. That’s strictly down to management and coaching.

how many more pieces of evidence do we need to see to understand we need to sack our manager?

The other issue is I don't trust this ownership to hire a suitable manager.

Which leads me onto my other question - why are KSE still here? An asset they paid lots of money for is dropping in value rapidly and they just don't care for it. What's the point in staying if you're going to continue running the club like this?
