15-year old Ethan Nwaneri on the bench. He was born in March 2007. Don’t know much about him truthfully but he must be deemed some talent if he’s making the bench for a PL game.
Arsenal much stronger than last year. And they take their chances against middling and smaller teams. Should be an easy win for them: 1-3 or more.
You win today and it'll show you got a mentality change throughout your squad rather than just within the best 11. Decent start by you tbf
1-0! Saliba! Great corner and lovely glanced header from the centre-half. Been a strong start from us, hope we carry it on.
Very different arsenal team to the last 5 or 6 years ... just the response needed after losing to United and having injuries
2-0. HT. Great performance. Completely controlled the game, closed down the passing lanes so they can’t penetrate through the middle, winning all the first and second balls, and we’ve been counterpressing superbly. We’ve been camped into their final third at times. The only thing is sometimes when they switch play with a long ball into the flanks, we need to get a bit tighter to block that. But apart from that, a measured performance where we’ve not really been threatened. Hopefully we keep it up in the second half.
Nearly 4-0, some great one-touch passing and movement between Xhaka and Jesus there. Good save from Raya. Brentford really haven’t handled us at all. Gifting possession to us and not winning any duels. We’ve bypassed their press superbly.
Good save again from Raya to stop Saka scoring. Really cute link up play between Saka, Martinelli and Vieira there.
3-0. FT. Could have been way more, but a great performance and result heading into the break. Ramsdale barely had any saves to make and our defence were impervious. Very well organised. Great build-up play in our attacks and won the ball frequently high up the pitch. Saliba in particular is just so classy. It makes such a big difference having a team consisting of elite technical quality from 1 to 11. Spurs at The Emirates when we’re back…
