More character, guts, teamwork, speed and determination from Brighton than us.
We were simply awful. Awful line up for starts, Cucurella and Pulisic are not good enough. Pulisic is always dispossessed and Cucurella couldn't defend his sisters honour. Sterling is not worth 2 bob at the moment ,such lousy form, and why is Havertz our striker with 2 new ones sitting on the benches?
Seems any team with determination ,speed and direct running can rip through our core and threaten us.
Own goals were and often are unlucky, except Brighton were in our goal square to cause them.
Time to select players in position, and in form. Would like to see us run and pass more directly and cut out the multi million sideways passes.
The good news? Brighton is the team Potter created, all he needs at Chelsea is players with the same skills and mindset. A sobering day for all.

Interesting line up...so much so that after seeing the team I couldn’t work out who would play where but I think the players had the same mindset. Ended up with wingers at wing back who don’t know how to defend, which cost the third goal. Cant remember the second goal but we gave the first away too.

Having said that, had Pulisic/Gallagher put away that sitter at 2-0 I’d have fancied us for at least a point. Another game with us missing 3-4 good chances but it’s been like that for months!

Good thing is, although we’re bang average so are United, Spurs and Liverpool. Arsenal are the best of a bad bunch so we’ll have always be in with a chance of top 4. Although we do seemed to have turned into the old Arsenal who’s aim was always to finish in the top 4.

Problem is, nearly all the "new" signings look bang ordinary. Cucurella is not as good as Alonso, Sterling looks just like a City reject, Aubamayang misses more than he scores, maybe because the midfield is not producing for him, and Koulibally looks past his best and a bit slow. Fofana does look a good un. Boehly is NOT the man to do the recruiting. Potters selections are all over the shop due to lack of available quality, not all down to injuries. Credit to him we are as good as we are !!!1

Really bad luck, Chilwell ,who had been a bit below par lately, had a cracking game, was belting down the pitch, getting into the box and right back to his best form for ages. Slow start from team, but really good after our first goal. Lots of fight back, and players happy to have a go and run at opponents.
Credit to Zagreb too, their last ditch defence was impressive and they never stopped trying even when we looked like running over them, they somehow kept out that 3rd goal.

Have you seen the report that Jorginho is asking for his wages to be doubled to 12 mill to stay at Chelsea???
I'd pay him 12 mill to leave !!!

Funny that he has started to play well on the eve of his contract negotiations, typical of the type of footballer we have nowadays.

Just seen the team for Arsenal, and Jorginho and Cucurella both start. Think Potter is hopeless with his selections, or a genius. I wouldn't have either of them in any team against Arsenal, so slow and such lousy defenders.

You don't look good, going to take a while before you start playing Potterball, not sure he'll get the time.

Starting to think he doesn't deserve the time !! What a lousy selection, again. Aubamayang is total dross, lazy, uncommitted, wasteful. Sterling is in the worst form of anyone in the team ,again was at the bottom of the list for performance along with Aubamayang. Cucurella is not good enough and his lousy defence left Silva exposed several times ,and Silva was mugged by the speed of the Arsenal attack more than once.. It is the sum of stupidity to keep doing the same thing and expect a different outcome, but Potter keeps playing the duds and the duds keep dudding. There are no goals in his starting line up, none from the front 3, none from midfield, none from defence. All the big names we bought are so far, terrible, Aubamayang, Sterling, Cucurella and Koulibally, all are either past it or the wrong fit for the team. We are hampered by injury for sure, but players like Broja must be dying to get away and play. He gets 30 mins is a turgid sloppy team, no surprise he can't show his qualities yet Aubamayang starts and starts, fails and fails again. Time for Potter to take a deep breath and impose himself on these slugs.Yet another dreadful showing.

How on God's earth did we value Cuckoorella at 60 mil, bang average along with Aubameyang and Sterling, they must be amongst the worst 3 players ever to have put on a Chelsea shirt.

Cucurella is so unlucky that he was sold by Potter and 10 mins later Potter is his manager again. Can't be easy for either. He's not helped by Potter playing him as a left back when he was bought to be a left wing back by Tuchel to back up Chilwell . Nevertheless he has been very poor. Aubamayang is just past it, unless he has significantly better midfielders than we have setting him up. Bad fit. Sterling would only have been let go by City because they didn't rate him anymore, and he looks exactly like that with us. Always hot or cold, not reliable enough, a poor choice for the money. Boehly has been a disaster with transfers. Tuchel had plans that Potter can't conceive of. Hate to rubbish Potter, but he doesn't inspire with his bizarre selections and lack of passion. Hope I'm wrong but see little evidence of the tactical nous he's supposed to have, or the way he bonds with and lifts his squad. I reckon half of them would be off like a brides' nightie if they could. All I see is confusion, players out of position, and careers going down the tube. Maybe things will change when the injured return, when the dross is got rid of and when Potter gets in his choices. Lots of ifs.
