Looking forward to my first visit to Ashton Gate - apparently over 1000 Salop fans travelling. Ricketts seems to be at his best in the FA Cup given the good performances last year. Lets play our best team and give it a right good go (two upfront?) and hope we are at least good enough to bring them back to the Meadow.

A very entertaining afternoon and we were certainly worth the draw and generally had the better of things, apart from 10 minutes after they scored when Murphy made two vital saves. Giles was a real handful until he tired second half and we kept our shape really well. Very good to see Lang back and hopefully he can strike up a partnership with the bafflingly out of favour Cummings in the games to come. A very solid performance all round but Murphy was my Man of the Match for a very assured performance and three very good saves.

Looks like City are full strength for the replay. We are the underdogs but, if we can reproduce our performance at Ashton Gate, we are in with a shout. Looks like terrible conditions and it could be a bit of a slog. Let's hope the lads have been practising their penalties. We don't get many but at least we are 100% so far this season.

pheraps it was a mixture of the FA Cups, the prospect of playing Liverpool or just been the underdogs, but tonight played with more freeedom and showed they can play attacking footbal.

what an entertaing at times nerve shredding game.all credit to the whole team for working so hard and some resolute defending, a vital save by Murphy kept town in the game , Udoh and lang forced good saves .

Bristol looked dangerous every time htey went forward, fortunently there number 9 missed two very good chances and they did not get on the end of crosses that flashed acros the goal, a post saved us.

Giles picked up a knock somtime in the 50th and he did not look as if he had shaken it off before getting subbed, Udoh ran himself into the ground.
then in the 89th minute Pierre put us in the lead and the crowd goes wild. Cummings showed his expierence by running down the clock .
    and now a dream draw.

you would hope the revnue from the liverpool game will mean we wont have to sell anyone to balance the books and have a bit over.

A great night all-round and a very entertaining game. Could have gone either way -fortunately City had an off night in front of goal. Goal of the season so far from Pierre but I would give Man of the Match to Udoh - his best performance in a Town shirt, often winning the ball by scrapping against two defenders and one great shot that forced a fine save. How we wish that sort of performance and atmosphere could be achieved in the League games but the lads can surely take confidence from coming out top against a top half Championship side over two games.

Agree, Zen. The stats over the two games certainly gives us the edge and it's just as well their number nine (who cost over five million quid) forgot to bring his shooting both with him on Tuesday!

Bad news about the Giles recall (could not Wolves wait 10 days or so) - he had his best ever game for us at Ashton Gate. He is only going back as injury cover and probably won't get much game time in the Premier League
Pretty sure he wanted to stay with us but unexpected recalls are the downside of the loan system.

yes it is one of the few town players with blistering pace that unsettled defenders . Ricketts has found a replacement very quickly, hope he can find another forward and a midfielder who has some pace.

Caldwell has said no more new signings in this transfer window though Giles could return. Looks like our current strikers will have to step up to the mark and it is encouraging two forwards scored yesterday. At least Giles going back should mean Whalley is played in his best position out wide.

who knowes if this accurate but figures of £300 to £400 K have been thrown around for the figure town will get from the liverpool game, so this should mean we dont need to sell any players and will have a surplus.

i hope the forwards do step up but i feel we need another forward as the ones we have got are simlar. we dont have a midfielder who can go on surging runs or has real pace to unsettle teams

We don't need to sell but if a big offer comes in for Pierre or Laurent we will find it difficult to keep hold of them because the interested club will offer them a big rise in wages. Today in the Star they are saying there now may be a signing this week and I suspect that may be a young striker or attacking midfielder will come in on loan.

very true whilst still diffiocult it is the reality of been a smaller club but the players going because a club is offering them more omney feels different to having to sell players to balance the books.
we have loan places free but i would hope we can purchase a player

Certainly had a good record at Bolton and does not seem to have settled at Hibs (even Collins struggled there). Could be a very good signing and Ricketts certainly has confidence in him given the length of the deal. Also, let's hope we can keep hold of Norburn ( especially until after Sunday)!
