    I had a £50 voucher to use in Clarks, so I went to Oxford Street to buy some desert boots. And some Japanese Bancha tea from the Tea House in Covent Garden.

    Walking through Soho and China Town, the outside tables were heaving despite rubbish weather. Oxford Street was quiet though.

    You had a better weekend than me which I would summarise as: crippled by gout and washing machine broke down.

    I had to piss into a bottle for 24 hours. Not continuously, just when I needed to go. True story.

    Not got gout, it is for kidney stones. Trying to see if there is anything causing me to have more of them than normal, early indications are that I produce calcium oxalate crystals which are a bi-product of certain foods. Good news is I should avoid spinach* but the bad news is I am advised to avoid tea, coffee, peanuts, dairy, meat, fish, eggs and also offal so eating kidneys is bad for your kidneys. Who'd a thunk it?!

    I'd like to glibly say "f.uck it" and eat what I want but trying to dislodge a stuck kidney stone is like being poked in the guts with a white-hot knitting needle so I will have to make some adjustments.

    * I actually quite like spinach :(

    Things I should avoid are seafood, red meat and beer. Or take the pills for life. Or put up with it. Doing the latter so far.

    I could do without red meat and I don’t drink so the beer is no problem.

    But in my experience, when you give something up, it’s never enough. More sacrifice is always demanded of you by the medical profession. I gave up smoking, hardest thing I ever did; now obesity is the curse of the modern world. Well how about bollocks?

    You can't eat them either, classed as offal iirc.

    when you add Conservative Party and Brexit Party votes together they would have got 53.2% of the vote. I would expect that would increase by the time of the next election
