Yes you've got to look at the season as 38 games not take the 9 we had a bad run in isolation. If we had started the season with 9 games without a win and then hit a good run of form we'd now be saying what a good season it has been.
I'm just glad some of the guys on here aren't the billionaire owners of the club. If that was the case we'd be changing our manager every two weeks!
Wait and see. Yesterday morning I called you a bunch of pessimists and was proved right on the afternoon. This is the best squad I have seen for many a year. Most of you will never have been throught dark years at the end of the fifties
So they've not all been excellent thenââ¬Â¦............youââ¬â¢re not trying some of your phycology on us are you with your leading statementââ¬Â¦Ã¢â¬Â¦Ã¢â¬Â¦... Iââ¬â¢ve said my piece on the matter, people know how I feel and am happy not to bring it up any more unless someone else doesââ¬Â¦Ã¢â¬Â¦Ã¢â¬Â¦Ã¢â¬Â¦
OK, so you told us so. Just remember one thing, this is Sunderland we are talking about. We've had dark years in the 60's, 70's (less for 73!) 80's, 90's and the naughties too, but we're Sunderland fans who are used to it all, because we've seen it all before. We don't have to be pensioners to have witnessed the disappointments of years gone by.
I think that part of our trouble is having too many fans with little or no patience. if you look at the bigger picture, we have actually made progress this season despite having the worst injury list in the league by a country mile. I agree that mistakes have been made, but like in any walk of life it is learning from mistakes that makes you better at what you do. I've thought long and hard of a realistic replacement for Bruce who would be an improvement, and to be honest I can't think of a single one.
I agree this is a forum and people are entitled to their opinions, it's the comments that are made out to be fact that I have a problem with. Things like: we are broke, short will not invest in the summer, the injuries are down to Bruces training methods. I don't mind people having an opinion, but if your stating facts back them up with a source or some real knowledge.
I don't entirely agree: you have just given an opinion but made it appear factual by using the word "is" but have no substantiation what so ever…………. I think that more often people’s opinions are taken as facts.......... but that may not be factual............arrrgh **** I give up..........
Well if you are getting at me there from another thread, then you just have to look at the books, everytime Bruce has bought he has had to sell, OK most deserved to go, but when he bought Gyan he had to sell Waghorn to help finance the deal (btw how is Waghorn doing, I keep looking out for him scoring, but i dont even think he is getting a game, and we could do with him now). Bruce may have wanted to sell him, but at the time, from memory, he said he needed to sell him to bring Gyan in. That to me shows that Short isnt willing to just throw his money away, we are not skint, but i dont really relish the fact that if short says no, we are up **** creak without a paddle. He either has to back the manager in the summer, or sack him and back another, but we cant always sell to buy, not if we want a better quality of player. Soon you can only spend what you earn, so he wont be able to bankroll us in the transfer market, there will obviously be shrood ways to get around it, I dont know what they are, but if we are still making a 24 million loss then = no more players (i think, havnt really looked into it that deeply). I really hope the club doesnt have another pre-season tour or Ireland or Europe, we should go to Japan/China (if thats allowed) Africa or Australasia (if their season has finished anyway). We need to be playing to new boundaries, I know its only friendlies, but its a start and we will gain some support and sell some merchandise, then word spreads and bingo. PS: I never use the word fact in my posts, because i know i could be talking crap lol
The fact is that the word fact is used far too often on here when people cannot possibly be factual about anything, because they actually don't know the facts at all!
I think it's safe to say that our injury problems have been exceptional, and if this was not the case we would have almost certainly had a top eight finish despite the sale of Bent. So personally, I can't see why so many seem to be a downer regarding Bruce, and I can't see any realistic candidates who are available and better than what we have got.
Well he is not going to be going anywhere soon and I'm laughing my head off at all you who are clamoring for his head, boxing yourselves into a corner - you must have been gutted we beat Bolton eh? The more arguments you make against Bruce(and the more swear word you use) the more obvious it becomes you just want change for change sake, you would be better off supporting NUFC if you only want to give a manager 2 seasons. Did anybody go to or watch the games before Christmas,or does the season only count from January onwards?? Stop dismissing the injuries or blaming Bruce for them, your just sad and paranoid. Can we accept Bruce will be hear at the start for next season and have some constructive comments and not this petty distracting drivel.
Personally, I would like to see him replaced, but don't think that he will be. But do you know what? I would love it, just love it, if I was writing here this time next year saying what a great Manager he is, and what a twat I am. That would mean that SAFC have had a great season. Every real supporter would surely say the same. So, let's wait and see - and hope and pray. KTF.
Do you know any facts to contradict them then Vegas? If yes show us them. We are only speculating on what could happen or not as the case may be.
This post reads like an attempt to wum your own fans? You have every right to voice your opinion on whether SB should stay or go, but at least back it up with your reasons on why he should stay, rather than posting ****e suggesting some of us wanted Bolton to beat us or that we should support NUFC!!!! If anyone is talking drivel, it's you marra! I've read many valid points on why he should stay and equally valid points on why he should go, but the post below, by of all people, Big Chris, really highlighted to me why there is a broblem with our current manager..... "there are so so so so many reasons bruce should be sacked he got rid of waghorn, jones and bent. never really replaced any of them however got welbeck in on loan fair enough. in january however he let bent go, didnt replace him, knew how light we were on striking options and didnt strengthen in any way. he then came out and stated we will be better off with a small squad, so injuries cannot be used as an excuse as he was fully aware that in a worst case scenario this could happen he also signed angeleri and riveros, not given either a chance, total waste of money and wages hes rushed player after player back and every time they break down he is clueless tactically, he brought craig lynch on last week (a striker scoring for fun) , played him left wing, he moved jack olback who was having a good game back to left back, he put nedum onuoha up front and brought on arguably the slowest man in our squad bolo zenden on in the centre. clueless idiot hes spent in excess of ã50m on rubbish and we have not progressed if you were ellis would you trust the man with your money???? NOT A CAT IN HELLS CHANCE" The only part of this statement that I would disagree with is the point about Zenden, who played very well in the middle yesterday. So your reasons for keeping the manager are......?
