It's the one game I've been dreading all season. I just want to get it out of the way. I think we are fully capable of hammering them, but I can see us scraping a draw or worse.
One thing that stands out over Brucies tenure is when we've been needing to win games against sides similar to ourselves then we generally have .. yes there are the odd exceptions but I'm confident that tomorrow won't be one of them
Means nothing. If the Tigers are at it Burnley dont have a chance. Only a dire Tigers performance can get Burnley there first win.
I'll never forget the Halloween nightmare of 2009 in this fixture, (ridiculous penalty for Burnley, Geo's fantastic free-kick disallowed, followed by his dismissal). Even Burnley fans I spoke to after that game thought it was unfair. Started the run of 7 consecutive defeats to them. I really hope we ended that jinx last year and prove it tomorrow.
I was there for that. Geo was booked for his reaction to the disallowed goal then sent off about five minutes later. The whole stand stood to applaud him. I'm hoping for better today.
It will be disappointing if Hull take less than 2,000 to Turf Moor - all Chelsea, Man United and Sunderland sold ALL their 4,000 allocation and even West Ham brought 3,000 fans. Is Hull still really a rugby league stronghold like Wigan?...and even Leeds to some extent? Oh, and I'm surprised none of you have not mentioned Trippier as someone who might get in Hull's team of "Galacticos"
I hope your players take Burnley as lightly as most of your fans seem to....I hope it is wet and windy at Turf Moor - some of your foreign contingent might get a culture shock.
Here's hoping we play some exciting expansive football. Play to our strengths and actually make a fist of it. I will be gutted if I see long ball, running three quarters of the way up the pitch and then back passing and not running at their defence.
