Seriously, is there a process by which we can request not to have a referee based on a history of poor decisions? That result leaves us 21st, a point and a place above Reading, who are in the relegation zone. It was good to see Dykes get on the score sheet again last night, with an intelligent run beating the offside, followed by some good control and a poke past the keeper for his eighth goal of the season. Next up, just what we need, a trip to league leaders, and Champions in waiting, Burnley. They need a win to secure top spot, but they have not won their last two games, drawing against Reading and Rotherham. Suggests their players may be taking their foot off the gas a little, so hopefully that could play into our hands. Their top scorer is Nathan Tella with 19, followed by Anass Zaroury (11), Benson Manuel (10) and Jay Rodriguez (9), who have all scored more than our top scorer, and between them have scored 8 more than our entire team, in case the gap wasn't clear enough. A massive challenge coming up on Saturday, but we showed a bit of spirit last night, and a lot more grit and determination...so now time to head to Burnley and spoil the party. Team News QPR: Jake Clarke-Salter could return but Ossie Kakay and Sinclair Armstrong miss out. Burnley: Nathan Tella and Hjalmar Ekdal could return from injury. Pre-match Talk Gareth Ainsworth (QPR head coach): “We have got nothing to lose, everyone expects Burnley to win the title on Saturday and we are going to do everything we can to try and stop them. “It was a real spirited performance in midweek and if we can take that into this Burnley game then I feel we have a chance of spoiling the party.” Vincent Kompany (Burnley Manager): “There is a still a job to do this weekend. “We are preparing for a tough game. We faced Rotherham, Reading and Blackpool recently who were all fighting and the energy a team fighting to stay up still can be difficult. ‘We are back at Turf Moor and that’s our special place, it has been all season. It won’t change on Saturday.” As always... ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Hope a miracle happens for us this time round. I'll be holding the ( Vickers ) holy water! I didn't realise Dave Thomas played so many games for Burnley. Always had fond memories of Dave and his low down socks! please log in to view this image
Not much hope here. With draws against Rotherham and Reading, I'm.sure Keith Stroud has now told them to smash us.
Have they drawn the last two so they can win the league in front of their own fans? I fear another Man City experience - against all odds we look like we are going to win. But then we lose. And this time the other results don’t help us. Cheers Dave.
I think it will be 5 or 6. Just our luck that they can now win the league against us. Complete write off. 4 points needed from the last two games imo. Highly unlikely.
If you've got to win a home match to secure the title, and you could hand pick the opponent, out of any team in world football, I'd pick us. We always, but always oblige. As you say, they might have to snatch the winner in injury time after we've missed a hatful of sitters but we never fail to roll over and let teams tickle our tummy whenever they desperately need a result against us. But this time, I genuinely fear a 6 or 7-0 hiding.
The only thing you can say is that if we get spanked it's unlikely to affect confidence for the last 2 games given it's pretty much rock bottom already
Backs up the rumours about Laird, Johansen and Willock falling out with Ainsworth. A decent guess would be that it's about the coaching and style of play. I predict Willock will look very good when he moves on. Johansen is virtually finished anyway. Laird is a good player, but never gave a **** about us.
A good manager would have come in and got the best from Laird. Instead it sounds like there are major rifts in the dressing room, GA was bought in to bring some fight and team morale which hasn’t happened - he clearly wasn’t bought in for his tactics and you get the impression he’s lost the dressing room.
