I'm a bit confused as I thought Paul Ricard would be a strong merc track. Going to wait till after practice...

Hope it's tight though for the sake of the double race

It feels like things are starting to swing Red Bulls way and the momentum is certainly growing.

I have the same feeling, this is slipping away from Mercedes. If they don't win at least one of these two races I think Red Bull will be on for both titles.
With Lewis, They can match the Redbull pace, really is down to strategy.

Red Bull are pushing the FIA to look into front wing flexing! Looking at on boards from last week it seemed like Red Bull's front wings were flexing a fair bit so I wonder how much extra Mercs are flexing?
Also seems like from Hungary pit stops will be mandated to be slower!!!! They are adding something like 0.15 sec extra for wheel gun men and 0.2 sec extra for front jack person. I think they said something about not using automated systems but humans so there has to be a reaction time. Seems like FIA are slowing Red Bulls down as they have fastest pit stops.

Seems like it's so close both teams are trying to gain any little advantage from the other where they can. So far 2:0 to Merc (rear wing flex and pit stops).

I'm not really bothered who wins the championships. I just want it to go to the last race .

Coming out of his box! Could have been a nasty accident had a mcl been in pit box or a couple of meters difference. I guess we will have new rules soon.

I am not paying much attention to the testing times, Merc rarely floor it. I am expecting Merc to be focused on establishing the right tyre & pit stop strategy, undercut vs overcut, which tyre to start on.

3 place grid penalty!!! Says Merc were trying to leave pit box in 2nd to get away quicker!!! That worked well!!!
Wonder if Lewis was testing that technique as well?
Didn't Max start in 2nd on a race recently? I think Merc might have been testing 2nd gear starts for the race, especially as it could be wet!

Might be bit of a wet weekend- intrigued to see Lewis and Max head to head in those conditions if that’s how it goes.

Very closely matched - short lap so no room for error in quali.

If dry I wonder if they will one stop (onto hards) as default or whether we see a glut of two stops on the mediums instead?

I get it was in the pits, but it seems a bit harsh. Sometimes **** happens, give him a warning and move on. I've seen way worse in the pits go unpunished

Mercedes finally find the missing sandbags they'd left on the car.
