Chances squandered by a team which seems rudderless. I think the excuses for Farke are running out.

    My ratings:

Krul - 6 - Could possibly have done better for the second goal by reacting quicker to the initial shot. His distribution was a bit less decisive today too.

Quintilla - 5 - Struggled with positioning. Decent free kicks though.

Godfrey - 5 - Didn’t really do anything wrong defensively, but some poor decisions going forward.

Zimmermann - 7 - Dominant in the air. Struggled with the Preston press though.

Aarons - 6 - Lively and had a couple of good attacking runs. Left exposed by Godfrey at times but his pace managed to recover the situation.

Skipp - 5 - A shakier performance than last week. Obviously didn’t like being hustled in midfield.

McClean - 5 - Anonymous other than one good tackle. Couldn’t boss midfield until the latter stages.

Dowell - 4 - Subbed too early to make a difference.

Cantwell - 5 - Poor decisions and gave away the ball too often. Improved in the second half.

Hernandez - 3 - Probably his worst game for us imo.

Pukki - 6 - One of his better games of recent times. Scored and unlucky not to get a second with an excellent Rudd save.

    Subs:

Placheta - 6 - Worked hard and gets a 6 for the equaliser. Missed a bit of a sitter though. Showed his raw pace on a couple of occasions.

Idah - 7 - Changed the game and worked really hard. Effectively created Placheta’s goal with a rasping shot.

Hugill - 5 - Bit of business late on.

Farke - 5 - Result was disappointing in context, but his substitutions worked and I can’t remember the last time we rescued a point from a losing position, so that’s another bogey sorted.

Motm: For us, Zimmermann (terrible pass in the 95th minute aside). Overall I’d say Fisher was the best player on the day.

That ball that Idah played to the left wing Placetta had no right to get there he's really quick , first time whipped in cross Pukki volley but unbelievable save from Rudd.

We are still unbeaten and killed the recent no points after conceding first stat .

In a long long season this point may turn out to be valuable.

2 shots first half 12 second half so good use of subs by big Dan

This is starting to look like the season after Neil's relegation.

Farke seems to want to play creative football with robots. If he wants players like Buendia, Vrancic, Leitner and Sorensen, he has to manage their egos, especially if one day he dreams of moving on to somewhere bigger like Dortmund.

I think this is overly negative at this stage. We’ve broken some hoodoos, got points playing below what we know the players are capable of and are right in the mix.

There’s room for improvement and I think we’re on the up vs two months ago. It might still go wrong, but I think Farke’s bought himself a little more time for the moment.

We’re joint third after two matches ffs. It’s pretty good going.

That Luton loss isn’t looking like much of an embarrassment either.

Yes, felt much the same about that! IMO a draw was a fair result. We were put on the back foot by Skipp's clumsy barge for the penalty but fought back to equalise. Their second goal was well worked but involved luck that Godfrey's goal line clearance fell to Fisher in space (where was Quintilla?). Placheta put his second chance away after missing a sitter. Fair result in the end.

Some questions asked about Skipp and Quintilla today, but our passing improved in the second half and we created some good chances.

    WhoScored's ratings:

    Krul 6.3
    Aarons 6.5
    Zimmerman 6.8
    Godfrey 7.5
    Quintilla 7.2
    Skipp 6.3
    McLean 6.9
    Hernandez 6.0
    Placheta 7.4
    Cantwell 6.7
    Pukki 7.6 MotM

Yes, 4 points from two matches is on target for promotion (2x46=92 points). We have a deep squad with new players who will develop over the season.

We were lucky to get a point and unlucky not to win. Oh well.

Cantwell needs to be on the left and bring Emi back in on the right when he's fit. Skipp and Placheta both made some mistakes and they both can make some very good passes. I think we're going to be alright if we learn to handle the press.

Alarmist no, just a realist. Two of the three goals we have scored have been gifts without these gifts we would have lost both matches.

I would agree with you that we continue to let in cheap goals, both centre backs were quite good today but made stupid mistakes.

If I had to drop one it would be the £50 million pound one Godfrey

It was an interesting twist that once Idah came on we went to 3 at the back with Quintilla as LCB and Aarons playing on the right of a midfield 3. It worked quite well and showed DF is open to change. When Hugill came on this changed to a 3-3-4 which also caused problems for the Preston defence. Both were shrewd changes that made us the stronger team towards the end.

We wouldn’t have lost the first match.

Also, this is the Championship. You get gifts. You still have to take them.

Your first goal soft, second bit lucky with the rebound, soft penalty and Fisher celebrating in front of the 1000 ace, highlights on Quest with fans in just shows how much the game needs. See you whenever the game Deepdale is, enjoy
