So, top of the tree at the halfway stage of the season Our last meeting with the bluebirds was very recent, the week before xmas and the Canaries ended up 2 - 0 winners, courtesy of goals from Buendia and Cantwell. Over the years, our record is very favourable, winning 32, drawing 9 and losing 16 times. Team news will follow nearer the time. OTBC. For those with short memories.....
Krul, McGovern, Mumba, Steipermann, Idah, Quintilla all out. So Barden starts in goal. Cardiff even more likely to play like they did at Carrow Road with Barden in goal. Test the young man's mettle. There's going to be a lot of long throws/balls into the box/crowding of the keeper. He'll know that going in though, and I've seen nothing from him so far to suggest that he won't be able to cope with it.
One advantage for us is that Sean Morrison, their main danger from set pieces, is out. The teamwork of Hanley, Gibson and Barden will be very important.
Barden was fantastic last game I'm sure he's buzzing to be in the first team . He was playing for Bury St Edmunds last season .
Trying to be optimistic, but not easy. A creative attack of Cantwell, Vrançic, Buendia needs a highly intelligent target man making runs upfront. Hard to see Hugill being that, but let's see.
Good to see Hernandez back in the squad. Will the ball be put on Hugill’s head if so perhaps Placheta will come on?
