Very frustrated after watching that, my observations:

    Gazzaniga - 6

    Chambers - 5
    Fonte - 4
    Lovren - 5
    Shaw - 5

    Davis - 6
    Schneiderlin - 5
    Cork - 7

    Ramirez - 4
    Lallana - 5
    Lambert - 5

    More analysis coming up.

Chambers better than Ramirez? I know he's not a foreigner and Gaston is, but no, not for me in this game. A lot of the positive intent that we had in the first half went through Adam and Gaston - equally.

1st half or 2nd half? There was a big difference.

1st half Gaston, Lallana and Davis 8s, everyone else 7
2nd half everyone 6, Chambers and Shaw 5

Ramirez didn't play the full 90, but you think that for the time he was on, he was our worst player? Really? Wow.....

Agreed, though would have Fonte and Lovren both at 6.

I deliberated and the Lovren skewed header and Zaha run aside, I couldn't think of much they'd done wrong.

    Fair enough.

These all seem pretty harsh ratings to me, I don't think that anyone really played badly and we were held back by a lack of real cutting edge and attacking urgency - if anything we were a little too comfortable in the first half.

I though Ramirez was fantastic first half and his shielding and ball retention had improved significantly. Chambers I felt also had a very good half and was an important attacking outlet.

Seriously? What a load if tripe. We played very well first half but lacked a cutting edge. Second half we lost our way.

Cardiff came with a plan and it worked. It was dull but worked. Ramirez 4? You just don't understand football. He looked our must direct player without bring great.

The only thing you have right is Cork was our best player.

Indeed. Gaston wasn't anywhere close to being our worst player. Shaw on the other hand.....

(Yes Gaston didn't do anything in the 2nd half, but none of our players did really. Except Gazza).

I'm still amused by the assertion "Ramirez lost the ball a hell of a lot"......

Gastón 4? Even the cynics around me were commenting that he was playing well so I think you're a little out of step there.

Perhaps Tom did wet the bed, hence why he feels humiliated.

Oh dear did someone say this. Right on half time Morgan gave Gaston a bad pass which gaston lost and then immediately after this Gaston gave it away himself poorly... But guess who was clearing it from the edge of our box 10 seconds later? Yes, Gaston.

'fraid so, yes. One of the clearest examples of watching the game that's in your head rather than the one in front of your eyes........
