Afternoon lads, just watching the Everton - Chelsea game and was just wondering what the difference is between celebrating with the fans when you score and running into the subs bench? Your still going off the pitch yet that lad from West Ham last week (forgot his name) got a booking which led to a sending off for jumping in to the fans yet, Kalou has just ran up to the Chelsea bench to celebrate but got nothing. Tevez done the same against us in the first encounter with Man City this season, I personally dont see anything wrong with doing it but how can it be one rule for one and another for another?

On a seperate note does anyone know what to search for to get the not606 app for the iphone? cant seem to find it yet seen it mentioned on here.

It was Frederic Piquionne that picked up his 2nd booking for celebrating.
I really don't understand how or where they draw the line on goal celebrations? Clearly good spirited ones like that don't disrespect the opposition, and as long as it doesn't draw on so long it delays play, then I don't see a problem (I'm assuming thats why they put the rule in place, to discourage time wasting?) -- look to the No Fun League (NFL) for an example of a league thats managed to strip the fun out of a pro sport by condemning creative celebrations

As for the ap, I think I read on another forum it's called Tapatalk?

I saw Kalou's celebration too and also thought the same. I guess the difference between those in the dugout are a bit more dignified and professional in their celebrations so aren't likely to go as wild as the fans and because they spend so much time with one another (training, playing, socialising etc) then they don't have that passion that fans do to get close to the players who don't get the chance to get close to their 'idols'... plus, there's like 15 people at most in the dugout whereas about 50-100 fans heading in the same direction would cause sarging... and you never know, a fan may have a weapon. (I'm a steward at St James Park, so I'd like to think I know what I'm talking about... not that I do much apart from watch the football and celebrate in the crowd haha)

It is a stupid rule however, the booking for running in the crowd. Soccer Saturday showed a clip of Vidic running into the crowd too without getting a booking (who was already on a yellow. I also remember Van Persie scoring that awesome volley against Charlton and ran to celebrate with the fans without getting booked too so it was questioned whether it was only the small teams that get punished for it. At the end of the day, it's just common sense from the ref, or the lack of it to give him that second yellow...

People who celebrate with back-flips should get an extra goal i think... i love seeing those types of celebrations! We're all aware though that its one rule for some teams and another for the rest the one that NG pointed out above concerning Tevez should have saw him sent off in that game because he picked up what would have been his 2nd (1st instead) yellow... money talks!

Amen to that! Obviously that's why Fulham's so anxious to hold onto Gera, even if Hughes refuses to play him more -- there's always a chance of a Hungarian backflip!
