With the suspension of Simunovic and the latest injury to Compper (what a waste of money he's turned out to be) we now head into the Rosenberg clash with three fit defenders of whom Ajer, aged just 20, is the most experienced.

Even when Gamboa returns does anyone really believe he's an adequate replacement for Tierney in the event of an injury to the young Scot? Even if Simunovic avoided a red card last night he's hardly the most reliable defender and is prone to injuries and making rash decisions.

We've been crying out for a decent right back and a quality, experienced CB for a couple of seasons now. Where are they? The Board like to boast about the amount of money we've made in the past few years but, as great as new lights and the pitch are, it's not worth having Champion's League quality facilities if we're not actually in the Champions League.

Every season our European campaign starts earlier yet our signing policy doesn't reflect that. The dragging out of the McGinn signing is embarrassing for a club that earned over £30m last season and is set to earn even more if we qualify for the CL this year.

Get the cheque book out Lawwell, ya arsehole.

Agree 100%, same every window, last time BR said he wanted "quality over quantity" and brought in Charly Mosonda on loan.
    That worked out well.

McGinn isn't a must have. He would not take the place of Brown or Ntcham so if Hibs want 4m then they should wait for Fulhams bid.

If we want players who can moon walk into the starting 11 we need to make the CL first.

    Im not worried.

We got £7m for Armstrong. I'm pretty sure we'd get McGinn for £3m. Then again, if Hibs are holding out for £4m it makes sense to wait until January and sign him on a pre-contract and get him for free in the summer.

But here we are again going into CL qualifiers with a makeshift defence. We've gotten away with it for the past couple of seasons (in truth, we were extremely lucky against Rosenberg last year) but our luck has to run out some time.

The league gets underway in two weeks time and yet we've not signed one new player. If we get past Rosenberg we're certain to face even tougher opponents in the next round. We seem to gamble on making signings every summer. No sane person is expecting the club to go out and splash £10m on a defender or midfielder but with the money banked from CL, the sales and add-ons of players like Armstrong and VVD etc., we really shouldn't be putting ourselves in a position where we risk £40m of CL money on a back four made up of teenagers and square pegs in round holes.

If it works, then good. If we get pumped out by Rosenberg there's going to be a lot of angry Celtic fans asking questions of the Board.
