The CRS are known to be a tad heavy handed. If memory serves me right they even attacked striking French Firefighters who were protesting about pay conditions, knocked **** out of them apparently. I doubt it would have made any difference which English team was playing, they’d have acted like psychotic arseholes anyway. Saying that, let’s not kid ourselves that the bin dippers are purer than pure and totally innocent. They’re typically aggressive, rat like behaviour would have added fuel to the fire. I dread to think what might happen if they get to the final next year. The Night Watchmen are waiting……….
If you want to know what the CRS are like, think the Special Patrol Group if they hadn't been disbanded but instead encouraged to put a bit more effort into it.
UEFA might be about to change their tune. Over a third of the seats at the Champions League Final go to corporate clients and sponsors and it seems they're a bit pissed off about being penned-in and tear gassed as well and have started filing formal complaints.
please log in to view this image France's interior minister is set to be questioned on the handling of the Champions League final, amid claims he lied about the conduct of Liverpool fans caught up in unrest before the game. Gérald Darmanin will appear before the Senate on Wednesday afternoon, along with sports minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, to answer questions about the fiasco that saw Liverpool fans tear-gassed and pepper-sprayed as they waited to enter the Stade de France in Paris on Saturday evening. Mr Darmanin has blamed the chaos on "fraud on an industrial scale", saying that 70% of tickets presented were fake. In an editorial, the Libération newspaper ridiculed his claim that 30,000 to 40,000 Liverpool fans showed up without tickets or with counterfeit tickets. French media has reported that only 2,800 fake tickets had been scanned.
UEFA has finally come out and apologised to both Liverpool & Real Madrid fans for what happened in Paris before the game. That has to be a poke in the eye for the French.
UEFA wishes to sincerely apologise to all spectators who had to experience or witness frightening and distressing events in the build-up to the UEFA Champions League final last week. An independent review will seek to establish a full picture of what occurred.
A Liverpool defender inadvertently knocked the ball forward and another Liverpool defender inadvertently knocked the ball backwards to Benzema Never heard about this "deliberate" rule either I thought that if Benzema was in an offside position when the Madrid player kicked it then it would be offside otherwise he was onside
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-61685718 after the match it seems football fans were attacked by the dregs of society
Two scouse mates of mine went, both ex coppers who aren't easy to scare, and said it was bloody scary after the match. Mobs of algerians and somalians with all sorts of weapons attacking/mugging whoever they wanted with no police intervention. The Saint Denis area is apparently rough as **** as well.
9,000 people have given testimony to Liverpool for their review into events before, during and after the Champions League final in Paris.
