The football solidarity didn’t last long @brb. This new format will be another nail in the coffin for the league cup.

Make the League Cup just for EFL teams

That will be one less Cup Man City will win every year

    Too many games I assume?

I'd go for dumping the JPT which would effectively kick out their Prem B Teams and keep the League Cup, for the Championship through to L2, no B Teams though, they can fook off.

They can **** off cancelling the LC for the benefit of the CL clubs, that’s defo not going to happen in the current climate. Give the ****ers an opt out if they want one.

There’s no money in that. The wealth comes from us fans in the lower leagues filling the grounds to watch the PL stars. Half a dozen B listers and the youth team won’t draw the fans in.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish said: "It has removed the biggest cloud hanging over football for the past 10 years.

"We have lived under the constant threat that this will happen and it has caused immeasurable damage already. We need massive reform at Uefa. These guys have infiltrated the top of our sport and they have had too much influence.

"Uefa should be running European football for the benefit of the game. The champions of the Netherlands, Belgium and Poland have to qualify in the summer for the right to get to the group stages, while still on the table is a proposal that a team finishing seventh in the Premier League may be able to leapfrog an Aston Villa or a Leicester in fifth and play ahead of them.

"Still on the table today is a 30% distribution of money based on their history in favour of these guys. We are sick of hearing about preferential votes, about preferential distribution of money and of preferential qualification.
