Off Topic Champions League

After the abomination of last season, it's good to be in the champions league knock out's with crowds (for now at least)

So, looks like we are going to get Atletico, Sporting, Benfica, Saltzburg, Inter or PSG.


In order I'd say; RB, Benfica, Sporting, Inter, PSG, Atletico.

Hopefully some hot balls in there so we miss either PSG or Atleti. (UEFA will want us progressing)

We'd beat the rest, and then we're into the business end of the comp.

 

Only PSG worry me, be nice to play Athletico or Inter Milan

 

while Athletico may not be as good as in the past but it is never "nice" to play them as they are one of the most cynical teams there is .

 

Great to have the knockout stages to look forward to.

Hopefully Ralf will have had a significant impact on the way we play and it's embedded much more among the squad by Feb.

I've watched PSG enough in the CL this season and I don't think we should fear them any more than any other side.

After watching Leipzig last season and this, they are a possible banana skin. Capable of outplaying any team they face and at the same time capable of getting battered in the other leg.

I'll stick to Benfica or Sporting or possibly Inter.

Chelsea have suddenly found themselves potentially facing some tough opposition. The likes of Real Madrid and Bayern. Even if they beat them, they’ll do a service to the others in eliminating one of the favourites.

 

Not sure Real Madrid is much of a threat these days.

Just looking at both the seeded and unseeded groups, if you take out the English clubs what have you got that looks high calibre opposition? Bayern and PSG?

The draw is filled with clubs/teams who wouldn't have made the last 16 a decade ago in this many numbers.

 

Sod’s law we’ll get PSG. But we should be able to give them a good game and they wouldn’t want to draw us too.

I think we should (the operative word) be able to beat any of the others.

It's way more difficult a tie than PSG.

 

Becuase of all the connotations, it's just fixed ultimately.

Allowing teams from the same country to play each other in the last sixteen would help that side of things.

Would rather play Chelsea than Atletico tbh.
