Six points deduction for Reading. Reading: Championship club deducted six points for breaking EFL financial rules - BBC Sport
Why only 6 points with those blatent losses? Nobody likes to see fans of clubs suffer for the action of owners, but I reckon they've got away with murder.
Agree but there's another six point deduction waiting on the sidelines if they don't behave. Time will tell.
Well at least a win for us at Preston on Saturday means it's now possible we can climb one place in the table.
I see Neil Taylor has signed a short term contract with Boro. Funnily enough I was only wondering where he was last week and thought if he was kicking his heels he could have been a decent short term fix for our lack of LB options. Ah well, snooze you lose I guess.
From memory, I think Stroud was the ref in that 6-0 thrashing at PNE a dozen or so years back. (might be wrong about that though)
Interesting Championship results (if you're an optimist). We took the 3 points, but not one of the 11 teams directly above us won their games and managed that. Brum, Luton and Preston lost dropping all 3 points each, whereas Blackburn, Millwall, Blackpool, Swansea, Forest, Middlesbrough, Sheff Utd and Bristol City all drew effectively dropping 2 points each. Hull for us now on Wednesday and a lot of the others are playing each other - see where I'm going with this?......
When you're near the bottom its usual for teams above you to be playing each other. Still need a few more wins to get us right in the mid table mix. While being half full, it doesn't change the fact that my glass is half empty at the same time.
No need to be facetious. On the question of us having to win more games, I'd have thought that was obvious. Having a glass half full or half empty doen't matter to me - as long as it's a good single malt.
Touche. A lot of work to do but positives to be taken. 12 goals scored in the first 14 games, 7 in the last 4. 26 goals conceded in the first 14 games, 6 goals in the last 4. A big improvement in the former, less so in the latter. Early days for the management and coaching teams but green shoots...... Not a whisky man myself. In fact, not a big fan of spirits in general though am partial to my home produced sloe gin.
Lee Bowyer dumbstruck by Hull’s opener. If you can have goaline technology how doesn’t it work for the rest of the goaline???? Madness.
Wouldn't dream of betting on them staying up - it'd be like a turkey voting for Christmas....... Tell you what I have just done though. There are 5 Champ games on Tuesday before we have our go on Wednesday. I'd like to see a few draws in there again, so I've just backed them all to draw. Not worth it as singles, but 10 doubles, 10 trebles and 5 four timers. Only a pound a throw on each so that's just £25 from my City winnings yesterday. If you're looking for a City win on Wednesday, they're quite short at 11/10 to take it. On the other hand and if you think City can eventually get a first half goal, you can get 5/2 on City HT/FT - that might well be worth a punt.
Well fellas, 3 out of the 5 games last night were draws so that's 3 doubles and one treble - £133.22 back.......kerchink.... Just one more draw instead of the other 2 narrow wins and what might have been......... Now then, about that bet on City tonight........
Here we go again then - more Championship games tonight and I'm after the draws again (and I don't mean us ) Withdrew 100 quid from last night and invested the odd £33 in another crop of draws. Picked 4 of the 7 games tonight for a £3 draw based yankee. I'm putting it up below before the event to leave myself open to ridicule........ please log in to view this image
Listening to that Martin stating the goal concessions were unacceptable today. Who does he think he’s manager of? He manages a tuppeny bit team
Made me laugh that they were all whining about not being given a stonewall pen against Blackpool the other week.. Funny how they were happy getting plenty of dodgy, soft penalties when they had a former referees son in charge eh??? Maybe getting rid of Cooper and bitching about him during his whole tenure is coming back to bite them??
