Whatever happens in the playoffs next week, the Championship has been 100% better that last season trying to survive constantly! We can compete in this division, and I love the thrill of the playoffs. Masky is about to get a giant orgasm! :emoticon-0103-cool:

    Oh dear. No pictures please.

Have to say last night's final round of Championship games was about as exciting as it gets. I watched our game on my laptop at my brother in law's while he had Sky TV football news on. The reporters at many of the games seemed to have a level of orgasmic excitement on a par with Masky's.

In fact the guy at the Reading/Jack's game came in his pants at least 3 times.

The only disconcerting point was Sky were about a minute ahead of CCTV. So I knew what was coming in advance of viewing the goals at CCS.

Taking the 2 Prem games into account there well over 50 goals scored yesterday. Pretty good entertainment.

Reading the press today a points deduction for Sheff Wed once their fate is known plus the appeal outcome for Wigan would likely change the bottom 3 positions.
The official end to the season is 4th August so a few days left to sort it out.

ps Any deduction for Derby would carry over to next season apparently as they couldn’t be relegated with 12 point deduction.

So, with the season just finished and the season just about to start, how do we fair compared to the rest of the division?
Its going to be a bit of a rush getting ready for 20/21. Is stability the key to being ready to hit the ground running? We've got the same management structure and the bulk of the squad remains. How well are we positioned?

Often one of the promoted teams pushes for top. Which of the 3 will it be? Coventry have been rebuilt, Rotherham on the way back, wycombe never been here before.

Similarly one of the 3 coming down flirts with the bottom . Bournemouth and Watford have been in the big league a while, will they adjust? Will Norwich become a yo yo team?

As for stability, Brizzle fans in uproar over a manager appointment, swans have a lot of signings to (re)make with 6 loanees departing and 5 seniors contracts up.
Who else has a lot of work to do to be ready and how do we compare?

It's going to be interesting and I think the season ahead will be the usual anyone can beat anyone else - perhaps even more so given the restraints many clubs will have on spending.
For the past 3 or 4 seasons I've expected Brizzle City to get promoted and invariably they get off to a flying start. I think the time they've taken over their manager suggests that they want someone special this time. Of course, it could just mean that they are in trouble with negotiations. Either way, I think they'll be in the hunt.
Brentford and Forest will have huge disappointment to contend with and in the case of Brentford, also raiders from top flight clubs. If they can keep the squad together, I expect them to make it.
I don't expect Norwich to bounce straight back especially as they look like losing a few players. Equally, I don't think they'll struggle but probably rebuild and finish mid table.
Goodness only knows about Watford. I t depends on managment I guess.
Wycombe may manage to stay up but I fear for Rotherham again.
As for the Bluebirds, well let's see what a full season of the Harris way will bring. I'm mildly optimistic.
So there we are, a load of words proving that I don't have a clue about what will happen, but that's the nature of the Championship, a league that could be crazier than usual in the season ahead..

The last paragraph about sums it up. The thing I'm surprised about is how surprising we find this league.
You used a lot of words to say you didnt know what was going to happen.
Nearly as many as I used to come to the same conclusion....

    ....you've no idea have you?:emoticon-0105-wink:

So, will anyone be brave enough to try predict next seasons final table?

I'm game to give it a go if others are?

Could be a nice sideline to the prediction league?

Masky will have an advantage, he's got 3 of them.

    Wildly guessing,

    1 Bournmouth
    2 Brentford
    3 Us
    4 Forrest
    5 Norwich
    6 Derby

Though don't discount colin getting 'brough in the top 6.

Need to revisit this once the squads take shape & new managers come in and don’t forget Sheff W (and possibly Derby) will be minus 12 before a ball is kicked.

Nothing wrong with a bit of speculation and maybe a good idea for a sticky thread at some point?

As Nin said, a lot of stuff to be sorted this next few weeks from points deduction issues, manager changes to player fire sales by desperate clubs. As far as we're concerned, top 6 again should be a minimum target, and wtih a renewed enthusiasm from Tan (and some of hs money), autos could be on.

Could do with some transfer news trickling in to get the chat going - going to be a very short summer break before we're at it again.

Still no managerial appointment at the Wurzels. They are getting a tad frustrated on their board.

Media favourite at Bournemouth is Jason Tyndall. Howe's right hand man in their relegation year. <doh>

    Fans not keen on that.

Obviously correct but I thought this was just a bit of fun without the science. We'll all be a lot wiser as the weeks roll by.
