So do you reckon Steve Bruce's job is safe at Newcastle for this season, as long has he keeps you away from the bottom three and what are the expectations say up to Christmas, to where Newcastle is expected to be in the league?

I think Bruce is winning over the fans.... I've eating humble pie. I can't see Bruce losing his job. I think we'll stay up.. Rumours of another 40 million.. Ashley is backing him that's for sure, so he obviously likes him. The players all like him too. I think sometimes it's hard for people to say thrley were wrong and some won't, but I am.

I feel Bruce was going through a lot of stress at times, so it's good to see a smile on his face much more now. Steve does it from the heart mate, unfortunately, that's not always enough to win the fans over, the only way you do that is with points on the board.

He's taken some nasty piss takes. People myself included forget these people are human beings.. He's getting some love now. He's from Corbridge not far from where I live... Seems bizarre when I think about it that a local bloke was rejected from day 1... Think the Sunderland link was a major part

and good to see he has never forgottten his roots...

“I remember having a conversation with the chairman of Gillingham and him telling me how hard it is now with no income, no revenue from the stadium and no supporters. They’re finding it very, very difficult. I learned my trade in the lower divisions – I was at Gillingham a long, long time and I’ll always be eternally grateful that a small club like that gave me my chance when no one else would. So I’ve always kept in touch with the people at Gillingham and I know just how hard it is.”

Anyone that goes on to big things when they're born looking like a dinner lady should get respect from anyone.

He was a top lad even as a kid, was never big headed, but defo a grafter, only problem was he exepected others to graft just as much. He used to play alongside a guy by the name of Mel Sage, I used to feel he bullied Mel quite a bit at the back, but when you consider one became manager of Newcastle United and the other a Taxi Driver, the future (present) now shows, who had the greater ambition. Although no disrespect to Sage, he went on to play 140 times for Derby County, they may have even have been in the top tier at the time, under his presence (meaning League One which is now known as the Premiership).

I think Bruce has done very well, no doubts in my mind he's very much safe. We actually aren't a sacking club, McClaren lasted long past his sell by date.

I think even @captain wrong can back that I've defended him on many occassions.

I also think some of his criticisms were low and disgusting. No marks saying he "can't take a training session" were just disrespectful, that's personal and has nothing to do with footie.

He's very likable, proves doubters wrong often and, I think at least, his record is nowhere near as poor as people make out.

With the teams he's had he's always overachieved.

Both Hull and Sunderland had their best ever premier league finishes under Bruce.

I know you didn't ask me, but I feel a need to back the man a bit.

    It's happening<laugh>

Steve Bruce once scored 19 goals in a season, not bad for a defender.
