I’m not sure why our home game to Fulham has been called off on 25 Jan ?

January is now a great opportunity to get the vast majority of our squad properly fit. If Josh Cullen can be back in contention so soon after a serious injury, a few of the other malingerers have no excuse. A lot of it is about mindset.

 

I read that Fulham are in the 4th round of the FA Cup, and that means our league fixture on that date has to be postponed.

 

Am I correct in thinking that we have 5 loans on the books now ?

Yes that is true. You can have eight but only five in the squad.

Blackpool striker Armand Gnanduillet is closing in on a move to Charlton Athletic, D3D4 Football understands.

The imposing forward has been in excellent form for the Tangerines in League One this season but, according to D3D4 sources, is close to agreeing a deal with the South London club.

Blackpool Twitter account saying it is a done deal.

 

Just looking at his career stats. Massively underwhelming. 14 goals in 50 games for Blackpool. Lots of short term moves at lower league clubs. Ok, he’s young and might be improving BUT .....

 

Sounds exactly the kind of hopeful punt we might have taken under RD, assuming the peanuts budget would stretch to it.
Are we still paying peanuts? Or are Blackpool going to get some serious money out of us.

If Lee Bowyer comes out and says he thinks Gnanduillet is perfect for the task ahead, I'll have to defer to the Gaffer. His call after all.
But LB said good things about Joe Ledley too - good things apparently only he could see.

Didn't Lyle Taylor have a modest record? Didn't he have fourteen clubs before he joined us? Yann Kermogant had a modest record before joining us. As always I shall wait and see.

 

LB was impressed by JL in training, so gave him a start. The fact that he took him off after 45 minutes tells you what he thought of Ledley's contribution, and he hasn't been seen since, a 16-year-old player was given the nod in front of him in the Cup.

 

Here’s the view of a Blackpool fan. We need a Charlie Austin or a Glenn Murray - proven. This kid is a punt at best. We can’t afford punts.
