That be fighting talk Mr...!! Like your good selves, our number one priority is to get out of this god forsaken league. However, the League Cup affords our squad/fringe players some much needed game time, which can only be a good thing. Do you reckon your lot will field a strong team? How's things under Mr Brown...?
Electricity bills have gone through the roof from all that sunbed action. Think he a Benson need and ''tan-off''
Morning Franco thanks for replying, probably will make a few changes, as you say getting out of League 1 is the main priority. Things are not to bad, we've no money relying on young players but that's life. And Brown will out tan Benson. Doubt whether we will bring many down for a Tuesday night south of the river the league match may be different.
Can't say I blame you mate. It's a fair old jog on a school night ay...? Re Brown... I reckon he could out 'Brown' The Duke himself, Mr David Dickinson. He's pretty much he same colour as a mahogany chest of draws I've got... /
Was up nice and early this morning finneyfan, had to to do the weekly shopping run.. I hope that Charlton have plenty of footballs available for this cup game, Charton seem to have made a habit of being involved in cup games were the ball has burst.. AND the game going into extra time... "the 1946 FA Cup Final between Derby County and Charlton Athletic (Derby won 4-1) and the 1947 Final contested by Charlton Athletic and Burnley (Charlton won 1-0). Both games went to extra time and the ball did indeed burst on both occasions... Fortunately for phil Brown the balls are no longer Brown in colour, otherwise he could end up well and truly busted... I think that both teams will want to win this cup game in the hope that they can make some well needed money in the next round, should they be drawn against a Prem club or in PNE's case Bleakpoo, after all Bleakpoo would see the game as their cup final..Oops forgot that a Div 1 club have already dispatched Bleakpoo out of the competition.. The two teams will want to win but both will see their priority as doing well in the league this season. It's an interesting fixture and should provide a decent game with some fringe players being given a chance to stake a claim for a regular place in the teams.
Tell you what Martin, the tanning salon's in Preston have been doing a roaring trade since Phil Brown arrived on the scene. Half the population are walking round like they have just come back from 6 months in Spain..
Check out the Liverpool side against Exeter tonight - now there's a manager that's taking this competition seriously...
We're OK, Charlton's 2nd XI are exclusively focussing on the cup competitions this year, knocking out Reading and the likes... the 1st XI can concentrate on the league and we've a few decent reserves to slip in either side as required. Ah... promotion beckons.
No European distractions for Liverpool also gives respect to Exeter by playing a more than decent side. Nardiello still a plonker though. Did like the Exeter chant of "We pay your benefits"
