Hi folks. Here is a table showing Charlton's current players. (This is based on a post by bexleyboy a few days ago on ITTV) I hope this table can be used as a quick reference during the build-up to the new season (until the transfer window closes). Latest update: Tuesday 27th October (5:35pm) ... WINDOW CLOSED By the way, here's what the table looked like when this thread was started... Players who have left the Club after the end of the July 2020 re-start: Goalkeepers Dillon Phillips (16th Oct, to Cardiff City) Defenders Tom Lockyer Naby Sarr Midfielders Tomer Hemed Josh Cullen (loan completed) Sam Field (loan completed) Andre Green (loan completed) Aiden McGeady (loan completed) George Lapslie (15 Oct, season long loan to Mansfield Town) Erhun Oztumer (15 Oct, season long loan to Bristol Rovers) Ben Dempsey (15 Oct, loan to Woking until Jan 9th 2021) Forwards Macauley Bonne (2 Oct, to QPR) Key to colours in season cells; Green - under contract Yellow - contract extension Blue - on loan Note: Previous starts & sub apps are for League games only. I have looked up the remaining contract lengths of all the players on BB's list. However some of the contract information may not be correct. Possible extensions may also be missing. Please let me know if you think any of the data on this table is wrong. I'll be happy to correct it. And please let me know if there are any players who should be on this table. Naturally I want this table to be as complete and as accurate as possible. Also, I will update this table every time Charlton sign a player, or confirm that a player from the academy is moving into the senior squad. Regards, Lardy
25th July update: Thanks to CafcFacts&Stats for the new information James Vennings removed from table (contract expired as far as I can tell and no news yet of an extesion or new deal) Jake Forster-Caskey added to the table
Heard a rumour that we have had a bid accepted for Albie Morgan. Can't remember much about him - details please!!
I thought he had 3 years on a new contract, so I hope you've paid some reasonable money for him. Opinion is divided as to how good he is. He made 11 starts for us last season and 9 sub apps. No goals scored. Draw your own conclusions from that.
Welcome back guys. How was your trip out to the Championship? Nothing much has changed down here, we are all still as ****e as when you left. If you can even keep half your team together you’ll be favourites to bounce straight back up.
We will definitely have our annual end of season jumble sale. There will probably be a managers special too. I presume Mcgeady is out of contract now? He wouldn’t stoop as low as us again. How’s Parky? I thought he did a decent job, creating a football team out of the Pardew nonsense he inherited.
29th July update: Jake Forster-Caskey has agreed his one year contract extension - he's staying at CAFC
29th July update II: Ben Dempsey & James Vennings are both staying at CAFC New contract lengths not known yet...
5th August update: Jonny Williams has signed on for his one year contract extension So we've got him for the whole of season 2020-21 if he can stay fit. A good player to have at 3rd tier level...
6th August update; Ben Amos signs up to his one year contract extension Will he get a game this season?
Is Naby Sarr leaving such a bad thing? Know he started off s*** but his wages are stupidly high and think we can get better for that amount.
I won't miss him. Been OK for a season and a half, but he hasn't done nearly enough over 5 seasons on high wages. After the departure of Solly the Nabster was our longest serving player (briefly). Now that is Jason Pearce or Dillon Phillips I think.
7th August update: The table has now been modified to show previous League starts and League sub appearances for all current squad players. The table now shows that Charlton's current squad has only 4 players who've made 50 or more starts; Jason Pearce ... 107 Dillon Phillips ... 81 Jake Forster-Caskey ... 60 Darren Pratley ... 50 All squad members have a combined total of 570 previous starts (if my maths is right), that's a average of 30 starts per player. The average number of previous starts for Goalkeepers is 42 Defenders is 46 Midfielders is 23 Forwards is 10
12th August update; We've signed a player!! Alex Gilbey, 25 year old midfielder from MK Dons, their POTY for the last two seasons... A 3 year permanent deal, undisclosed fee. https://www.cafc.co.uk/news/view/5f2c1644c54f4/done-deal-alex-gilbey-arrives-on-three-year-deal This must mean the full transfer embargo has been lifted by the EFL. However the original player registration embargo may remain...
