so ladies and gentlemen, what are we reading. What have we read?
    Any recommendations?

I've just read Golden Prey, john Sandford novel. Can't beat a Lucas Davenport crime thriller.

Also read, Born standing Up, Steve martins autobiography. Fascinating read. His whole life he practiced for those few tours, went massive and that was it. Never done stand up again.

Just finished "Born a Crime" by Trevor Noah. Great read and revealed a lot about his childhood that I didn't know.

Going to read The Godfather next. Haven't read or seen any of the movies yet.

My Nephew is ordering me to read JK Rowling. I suppose I'm duty bound. Is it any good?

Just read 'The Border' trilogy and 'Blood Meridian' by Cormac McCarthy - the guy has a unique style of writing that, I think, makes for brilliant story telling; several of his books have been made into film but, should 'Blood Meridian' ever become one I can only imagine the film would bear little resemblance to the book, it's not a read for the faint hearted!

If you enjoyed Enid Blyton as kid then you'll love Harry Potter. The first book is poorly written, after that things improve. The last two take a deceased, badly beaten horse, kill it again, then flog it ruthlessly towards a further death.

I have recommended Terry Pratchett. He's not interested, obvs. He reckons smoking is bad for me and he doesn't like football.

    He's a nice kid otherwise.

Ed: Mind you, we don't like football either...
