A must win game today. United will be up for it, I just hope we are too. We owe h thy em a good hiding from the opening day so hopefully the lads haven’t forgotten that.
Crap utter crap. What on earth is our beautiful game coming to. Really cant say we helped ourselves but the officiating sucked they should hold their heads in shame. How on earth did the ref book Zouma for a good tackle that took the ball then inadvertently caused Martial to fall awkwardly and hurt his back. I cant argue with the offside decision for Girouds goal but penalising Azpi for being pushed into their player is simply laughable. On the plus side we learned Giroud is better than the other options atm. Kovacic is our best player atm James was very good, and wee need to find a way to stop the opposition scoring with their heads. Really disappointed tonight we have been beaten once again by a pretty poor team, does that make us one also, mmm food for thought, as we cannot keep putting it down to bad luck.
9 defeats and we're still 4th !!! Our home form this season has been woeful. Can see us finishing 7th or 8th unless there's major improvement.
Another flat showing against an equally poor United team. Weird line up from Frank, guess there were injuries. Michy was 2nd rate again, Giroud for the short time he played looked OK . Yet again little threat of goals from midfield and real poor defending of set pieces. We just keep making the same mistakes. Sloppy midfield passing was a problem and no one looks prepared to actually run at defenders apart from Kovacic, easily our best along with Mount. Slightly worried that Reece James' attacking nature often leaves room for opposition attacks down the line. Nothing for it but to knuckle down and keep going and hope things turn around.
Completely lost interest. I actually think I preferred football with human error, at least then there was an excuse for a mistake. I don’t understand how Maguire wasn’t sent off, wasn’t obvious at first sight but after the first replay surely that was red card? And how the Zouma goal wasn’t given I’ll never know. He’s a dreadful referee though, wasn’t it him who gave a free kick against Alonso when Gazzaniga karate kicked him I don’t think we were that bad tbf, we created some really good chances, particularly the Batshuayi one he hit wide with his left foot. Played some decent stuff but they played the game as I expected and even forgetting the awful refereeing I didn’t fancy us at all. Just had a feeling they’d get us against the run of play. Looking through the line up though I don’t think we’ll have any of that front 3 next season and you can see why. Just weren’t good enough.
Didn’t realise Fergie was a video ref - anyway another home defeat, another loss against an average side can’t see us making the top tier at this rate even if City were thrown out; luck seems to have deserted our motley crew.
Really disappointing night. When you're struggling for form the last thing you need is VAR decisions constantly going against you. Felt really sorry for the fans in the stands particularly. The Zouma goal was ridiculous. Utterly amazed you can disallow that goal and the decision should only be reversed if there is a clear error - which there wasn't. Plenty of average performances last night but you just knew we were in trouble with the front 3 we had on the pitch. Can't blame it all on Bats but if you cant hit the target from 12 yards when its laid on a plate you should be nowhere near a 'top' P.L team. Other than the purple patch at Dortmund for a couple of months, he's consistently been poor for years. How is he anywhere near the team and keeping Giroud out? Think it's safe to say we are underdogs for top 4 now despite being in the top 4 as things stand. 4 wins from 14 is simply not good enough and expect us to struggle to get Europa at this rate. Spurs game is massive obviously but they'll be licking their lips. This squad now looks like it needs huge work which is setting us up for another season of transition next year.
Var was unbelievable yesterday and probably the first time i think i i wou criticise it properly. Glad kovacic started though, any idea why hes hes barely played recently even though we have been super ropey form wise?
Did Bats 'performance' last night finally end the 'Tammy needs to be rested for Bats theory'? Or should Bats get another chance?
Tbf tammys been missing some sitters too. Hard to believe but batters build up play is even more shocking than tammy
As soon as we lost Kante i just knew it was'nt going to be our night.......2 things i'd like to see. 1 Batshit sent to QPR (who probably wouldn't want him) 2 Reece James tried upfield with Dave as RB. Not sure i'll get either.......Still fourth,as Frank says the season starts now.COYB'S
I think we know which who this person is mate, certainly one who is impatient and cannot wait for the natural progression is. Me i’m stupid I’ll listen to any cock about how we are building the club from grass roots.
